Thank you for posting this useful link and others that you have posted. I find your posts contrast favourably with overly defensive posts from the McLaren camp.

I never challenged your claim that it's all a big game..? I merely pointed out that you're willing to entertain endless speculation regarding the Porsche's lap time, but won't listen to reason regarding the McLarens. It's no secret - ever since the 918 set its initial lap time we have known that Porsche would be returning to the Ring at some point to set a considerably quicker time. So what? So far Porsche is the only one of the three that's had the balls to show us all what their car can do around the track. 6:57 is a great time but we've all know for a very long time now that they can (and will) do a better time.

    Hmmm

Funny thing/The irony is: I wouldn't be posting here at all, if it wasn't for some of the near outrageous, prolonged, recalcitrant stuff I read here (and that you're probably talking about). Lol.

[Otherwise] I would just be sitting back enjoying you guys, the site, and all the cars, ideas being discussed.

I guess it's all information, and/or entertainment one way or the other (no matter how seemingly bad, myopic, desperate or inane it all may appear sometimes)? Lol

    Thanks for YOUR post

How about looking at it like this:

This is a great time to be a hyper car fan. You have 3 truly wonderful hyper cars from 3 wonderful marques with great histories and legacies and use incredible cutting edge technology. Some of which will come down to super and sports cars that we will get to see more of.

The last time the world's governments decided to cut back on emissions and improve fuel economy the sports car industry practically died. Its pretty vibrant right now.

I would enjoy each for their differences and relative strengths.

Interesting. Wonder if anyone already bought it or if they brought it over for display at the dealership, like they did with the Carrera GT. I'm going to go try and visit it sometime.

Apparently there is a silver one, too.

I bet it is a hybrid electric 16 cylinder quad turbo 4WD car. Same parent company as Porsche. That's exciting.

If that's true then the earlier poster who said the Nurburging car was at the Porsche event in Chicago was wrong. The dark blue display car was NOT a Weissach package car. In fact we're no Weissach package cars there unless they changed that from Tuesday to Wednesday which I highly doubt. Likewise I didn't see Marc Lieb there either. Again, maybe he came for Wednesday but I find that holy doubtful as well. The drivers they had we're from their North American driver training programs.

So what you are saying is there will finally be a hybrid hypercar that will make the 918 look like a lightweight? ;) :D

Any news from McLaren as to why no P1 for the head to head against the 918 at Dunsfold? Seemed like McLaren were up for it earlier in the year but we were thwarted by the rain. It's very sad that we won't get to see the P1 against the 918 on the same track with the same driver on the same day.

itll happen eventually, and im sure the laferrari will be there as well, they will just be customer cars.

but mclaren still looks like a bunch of fools for the absolute disastrous "lap times are dangerous and mean nothing" nonsense...

Apparently the track was too dry for McLarens liking.

Receptiveness here is often lacking with news I've shared from McLaren so I don't see why I would go out of my way again. Porsche's faithful want you to believe McLaren dodged a fair fight but I wouldn't agree that was the case.

It will be interesting to see what Top Gear have to say about it when the time comes. They've sold their viewers on something they apparently aren't capable of delivering at the moment. Oops... ;)

When you watch the video that accompanies Autocar's review of the P1, Steve Sutcliffe says: "This is the world's first and possibly last full video road test of the P1"...I wonder why he said that, it strikes me he may already have known at the time what is becoming clear now with the palaver of Mclaren having backed away from the Top Gear road test.

The Agera R is about .4s faster than 650S and 1s slower than the 918 up to 200 kph.

Of course you wouldn't  McLaren are right, everyone else is wrong..business as usual in Eriks head :p

The vast majority of Top Gears viewers - unlike us - have probably already forgotten about the comparison test. When the time comes I'm guessing Hammond will be making the most of his victory, giving a brief explanation that it was McLaren who decided not to participate, while Jennifer will be wishing he never backed the P1 :p

Agera R 0-200kph is only .4s quicker, officially, than the 650S.

McLaren TC/LC and transmission is just probably better.

    *sarcasm*

It was probably the overly powerful Coriolis force that bothers P1 at higher latitudes. Somewhere closer to the equator and the P1 would have it.

The 'diss' interest of a vocal minority should not dissuade you from updating the passive majority here with you Mclaren insights...
