Just curious if anyone has made this switch before. Not that I am seriously considering the switch, but in the future, if I need a car with more seats, I really do love the look and I think it would be a move I would consider.. Wondering what people's thoughts are, who have personally had both. Which did you like better? I know they are two totally different cars, but if you had to pick one, which would it be?

Tim- The 575M (and 550) only has two seats. Just went out in the garage and counted them on mine to confirm. Were you looking for a 456M or a 612?

Robert- Affirmative, and his 612 is a nice one too. Bob changes Ferraris like I change socks.

I have had 360F1 back in year 2000, traded up to 360 3 pedals, than traded up to 360 Challenge(Race Car), than got up to F430 3 pedals and Scuderia and 360 Challenge are the 3 V8s keeping right now...

On the V12 sides, I have 550/575/456 all 3 pedals stick shifts and keeping them all...

The V8s MRs and V12s FRs are very different cars, but they all are great and wonderful in their own ways...

Damn, thats a crazy collection! Not to be rude at all but why have you decided on those models? I couldn't understand the logic of keeping a 430 if you have a scud or likewise both a 550 and a 575. Do you just keep them both for a choice of gearboxes or are you speculating on them as investments? Would you not be better in getting a 355 and one of the new models instead? Variety the spice of life etc. Not knocking you just find it different to my train of thought. That said my old man is a jag man and has 5x xjs' which again I fail to see logic when there's other models he doesn't own and even more strange when he uses a audi a1 or a van as his DD!

    Hahahaha... Thanks for your reply.

Well, for 360, I got it for right around $85K, and it was probly the best value money for the Ferrari race car to be raced in my class. Surely, I would love to upgrade to the next step for the 430 Challenge and or 458 Challenge.

For both 430s, I ordered them new from Ferrari dealers at roughly around $200K for 3 pedals, and 280K for the Scuderia... As of today, 40K miles driven on the 430, and 20K miles driven on the Scuderia... Half of the value and money are gone in both cars, and I still love them just as much as the first day I got them... And one is the last model MR V8 3 pedals to be produced, and Scuderia F1 60ms quick shift is also the last true F1 type shift available... So there is no point for me to sell both cars... Just keep enjoy driving them, and see how life will go...

For Maranellos: Maranellos are my favorite Ferraris, So I bought and keep two 550s and two 575s... I keep one 550 all stock OEM Ferrari spec with 12K miles driven just like most of our 550 owners friends here in Ferrarichat. And the other 550 I drove up to 62K miles and could not sell it for more than $45K dollars, instead I converted to full roll cage race car shaved off some 800 lbs of weight and it is now my favorite F cars among the rest.

575 is the same story, I keep one 575 with 15K miles all stock not a single thing modified. And the other 575 with 50K miles driven slightly modified from suspensions, exhaust, light weight bumpers a bit like the 575 Challenge stradale or 575 Scuderia I call it. I am extremely happy with all my 4 Maranellos and all are in 3 pedals true Ferrari heritage proper gear shift feels. I did test drove twice with two 599s 3 pedals stick shift, and it does not feel right cause Ferrari produced the 599 stick shift using cables instead of steal rod like the 550/575s... So I ended up not buying the 599 Stick. Cable shifting feels good in MR V8s like in 360 and 430, but not in the FR 599... So, I consider 550/575 is the last true Ferrari FR V12 with the true Ferrari tradition heritage 3 pedals stick cars... and the styling of course... That is why I keep 4 of them and still shopping for the right Barchetta, and Superamerica to complete my Maranello collections.

456 is my favorite 4 seater Ferrari simply because it`s styling is so beautiful just to look at it, and very enjoyful to drive around and fits 4 with my wife on the side, and two kids in the rear seats. So it is our family F-car to drive and tour around our beautiful national parks in the prettiest 4 seater F-car...

In my order of personal favorite preference:

    1. 550 Converted race car
    2. 360 Challenge race car
    3. 575 Slightly modify car
    4. F430 3 pedals stick
    5. 430 Scuderia
    6. 550 OEM Stock car
    7. 456 MGT
    8. 575 OEM Stock car

Sorry for the delay in replying, just read your post. Wow is all I can say, you have the bug more than most here and I would say the majority, myself included, have the ferrari addiction in our blood! Kudos on the collection! Simply amazing!

    Im considering looking at a 612 as well..... I have a 360 (manual) and a F430 spider (F1).

according to my GF there is a baby on the way, so I need more seats... So I would probably swop one of the V8's for a 612. Have also been considering a Bentley Continetal and a GT-R..... But as far as the GT-R is concerned, its a BIT too playstation for me....

The thing about the 612 that bothers me is that is SO hard to find one with a MT......
