Forgot about that one Chas! For an open cockpit car Scott was very very lucky to have come away unscathed.

I thought of the DW first simply because I was there and saw the carnage firsthand. Was near/in their garage from when they slid it off the flatbed, worked on through the night and seeing rolling it back out. Not many parts for that since lawn darts became outlawed lol.

That 2nd shot was approx 5 am

I can't be the only one that doesn't like the Delta wing, right?

Every single time I see that car I look at the front end and the incredible understeer it must have.

Audi ready for the race at Le Mans
    • Positions two, four and five in warm-up
    • Toyota and Audi within a hundredth of a second
    • Kristensen, Lotterer and Bonanomi nominated as start drivers

Following a final check in the morning’s warm-up, Audi Sport Team Joest is ready for the 82nd running of the Le Mans 24 Hours that will be started on Saturday at 15.00 (CEST) by the two-time Formula 1 World Champion Fernando Alonso.

More than 250,000 spectators are expected to attend the world’s most important endurance race this weekend and there were traffic jams for several kilometers around the race track in the early morning. In the 45-minute warm-up, the fastest Audi and the best Audi at the front of the field were within a hundredth of a second of each other.

André Lotterer in the #2 Audi R18 e-tron quattro set the second-best time at 3m 23.741s. The other two Audi R18 e-tron quattro cars trailed him in positions four (car #3) and five (car number #1). All nine Audi drivers participated in the session. Following the warm-up, Audi Sport Team Joest simulated pit stops and driver changes once more.

When the race starts at 15.00 CEST (live on Eurosport) Le Mans record winner Tom Kristensen (#1), André Lotterer (#2) and Marco Bonanomi (#3) will be at the wheel of the three Audi R18 e-tron quattro cars.

I'm definitely in the minority of being a fan on the first edition DW but mainly because of the engineering innovation it had. The streetcar can't be any uglier.
