It's only their first year back so it's not disastrous, just disappointing that the 2 teams that took the fight to Audi both had terminal problems. Next year will be absolutely incredible. Porsche will know more about their car so I'm betting on them!
I would like to see cars like Mclaren P1 in LeMans like in old good days [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCKFyrBDLWw]Porsche GT1 versus McLaren F1 GTR Le Mans 1996 - YouTube[/ame]
With as many Cayannes and Panameras as Porsche is selling, they should be flush with cash to keep the program going. I hope they're in this for the long haul. Mark
+1 Makes you wish for a GT "open" class of sorts. Man, think of racing versions of the P1, 918, and LaFerrari going full bore for 24 hours. Mark
yes, they need new class but no way for Ferrari with V12 but they can borrow engine V8 from 458 replacment
Obviously with the expenditure if funds they would want to win - every team that races wants to win. Glad to see Gimmi in the 51 to the finish, Ferrari to P1 he'd be the best to transfer from GT. Ferrari already has a hybrid.
#14 back out to show a finish bravo Porsche. NO way is it to be shamed for any of there big three ever one had some very complex issues, badly wrecked cars and teams that don't give up. Congrats to Leena. Nice round of applause from Audi to Porsche coming back in track.
I disagree. It's their first year back and they had very quick cars. Reliability wasn't up to snuff, but I say job well done. This isn't exactly an easy race to finish, especially when you're pushing as hard as they had to in order to keep up with the big boys. They'll be back and much stronger I believe. Mark
congrats to Audi and all the class winners. particularly big congrats to the #95 Aston for their win after last year's tragic race.
If you have never been, put it on a to do list. We've been several times and yes people do cry. The music at the beginning when they come around Porsche Curve to spending night at the circuit to the finish, it is absolutely amazing!
