    Florian,

Hasst du bemerkt, dass das Statement sagt:

"um seine lange Phase der Rehabilitation fortzusetzen"

verstehst du auch dass "LANGE Phase" meint es nicht einfach werde?

    Bas,

The official communiqué says that the rehabilitation phase will be "long", so out of coma he is indeed, but the future will certainly not be easy...

I'm not sure what the rehab road involved and I'm sure someone will chime in, but the fact that he is out of a coma is a massive victory already. People where so quick to write him off, talk about pulling the plug and all that bollocks and here he is with the mental strength to wake up from a coma.

All hope is not lost, I'm sure he will not be completely his old self and we'll have to see what parts are affected, but with a bit of luck he'll be able to see his kids grow up and all that.

It´s awsome for everyone but they don't tell anything about his condition..but, while there is life, there is hope, i believe Shumi will now take a long reabilitation process and only when he as got some kind of autonomy will he show up...
Thes best to you champion, keep on fighting!!

Yes he is no longer in a coma and has been transferred this morning to the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Vaud (CHUV) in Lausanne. That is near his home in Gland on lake Geneva.

    One of many sources:

Michael Schumacher est sorti du coma

CNN as usual botched up their own announcement wrting that he was "released from hospital" as if he was wandering around by himself when in fact he has simply been transferred....

Wonderful news but a long road ahead.

    Best regards,

    MS

According to Dr. Gary Hartstein, it's not much news at all. In clinical terms, his condition has not changed in the last month or more, and Hartstein had said earlier that his current care would at some point have to continue outside of the Grenoble ICU.

Here is his new post today: Good news? | A Former F1 Doc Writes

I think Hartstein is being tentatively careful here; he has received exactly the same amount of information as us and bases his opinion on that.

He says it's almost impossible to go from ICU to rehab without going to a regular ward, but I see 2 options here:

    1) he already has been to the regular ward but we weren't told (considering how private they are, this is not out of the question)

    2) because of Schumachers celebrity ''status'' the transition stayed into the ward he was in and has now reached the status of being able to go to the rehab center in Vaud.

I don't think it was implied by Sabine at all that Schumacher casually walked out of the hospital and got himself to Vaud for some rehab. I'm sure sub standard news agencies will write it in exactly such a way now though.

What is massively important is that he IS out of a coma and the doctors all agreed it was possible for him to move to a rehab clinic. There are many months of rehab ahead but he is in the next stage.
