I've got $150,000 to spend and wanted to know which Ferrari you would buy and why??

My current thoughts are F430, California or 599.

Your thoughts and comments are greatly appreciated

360 Modena six speed (red over tan) and bank the rest for potential maintenance issues.

It depends on our personal goals. For me it's a very attractive 2 seat open sports car, not necessarily the quickest (there will ALWAYS be someone quicker!) but the enjoyment of a quick car with decent power that handles well , easily and predictably, and isn't too difficult to maintain. Throw in a nice cockpit with good controls and gauges, decent, good conforming seats and that pretty much describes it.

For me the 328 GTS fits the bill very, very well, and leaves a lot in the kitty to boot. It even has AC that works! Spending more won't necessarily get you more, depending upon your wants/needs. Of course there are plenty of other marques available but you asked about Ferraris. What I'd love to have- an Aston Martin DB4 Zagato, or a 275 GTS Nart Spyder, or an Alfa 6C 1750 or 8C 2300, I will never, ever be able to afford. I would even be very, very happy with a Riley Imp. Then again, there are a couple of very, very nice Squires... they had the Wilson preselector gearbox, same as my first car a 1936 Hudson Terraplane. That's pretty much ALL they had in common, though. I CAN afford the 328, though... lucky me!

    Cheers, and happy dreaming-
    Rich

P.S.- And I like red, too. So far my list of red cars (over the years) is 1 red Lotus Elan S3, 2 red Series 1 E-Types, I red Alfa Spyder, I red Austin-Cooper 1275 S (Mini), and 1 red S2A Land Rover 88. And the 328 GTS. All of the latter- except for the 328- were a while back, now the job is filled by the Ferrari alone. I've had other cars, of course, but the others weren't red. Oh well.

Agreed although I know of at least one that sold for more than $150k in the last six months. A steel Carb Euro 308GTB would me my choice, with a 550 a close second.

3 pedal 360 and save half or 599.

What experience do you want it for? Fast GT experience or tossing it around turns?

A cherry single mirror Testarossa, and bank 50k in the bank.

You have the last rear 12 from production , aside from an Enzo or la ferrari , you have a pure formula one engine that Niki Luada raced with in the 70s from the 312T, and you bank 50k too boot.

Why spend 15O on a Luca car, when you can buy an Enzo era car :D

    Just sayin'

is that going to be the most desirable TR? or would it be a later car (512TR)? something in between? (I assume 512Ms will be in their own category).

Maranello 575M HGTC 6-speed manual; in the eyes of many the most beautiful Ferrari design since the 365GTB4 Daytona and the Daytona's spiritual descendant. Unless you are going to race, no one needs to get from 0-100km/hr in under 4 seconds or attain more than 325 km/hr terminal speed and in this car you have all the performance and handling you can possibly use on public roads and a Ferrari that will IMHO significantly appreciate from here.
