Your gauges are strange. Where's the boost gauge and the awd indicator?

Up until a couple of months ago, I was still connecting the dots and researching my memories about the car.

    Official 959 - NO

    Kit car - NO

Replica - Depends on how you look a it.

Quick rundown. At some point around 1987-1988 my father learned of a "car " in Germany that was available through a friend who was an ex-Porsche racecar driver. The car was purchased and disassembled and brought over to America over the course of a year and reassembled on an existing ( modified ) porsche chassis. I remember two Germans technicians bringing the suspension over in luggage ( I was 9 or so at the time). The car is not 4wd, it is a single turbo (was k28) 3.3L twin intercooled Heavily modified engine running .7-2.0 bars of boost ( has a adjustable boost control between seats). At .7 bar it makes in the neighborhood of 630hp.

The car is basically a racecar for the street, no abs, no power steering and would not pass an emissions test if you know what I mean.

The car was in storage for 4+ years and I have spend the last 2 years getting it back to 100% running condition, better and stronger than I can ever remember it being.

The car is said to have some ties to porsche when it was in Germany ( but with no documentation, it's just here say or Rumors)

The boost gauge is far right, blocked by the steering wheel in the picture

Does it have a title? If so, is it titled as a 911 with a Euro VIN?

What kind of mods were done to this engine to make 630hp at .7 bar?

Edit: I see efi with a modded afm, dual bovs...

I wish I have a list that I could just name off to you, Unfortunately the main players that put this car together are no longer around And I was really too young to pay attention to alot of the details. I know the internals of the engine have been heavily modified our remember multiple times "Gruppe B" cams Being mentioned. I know it originally had a K 28 turbo on it and a couple of turbos were put on to test different configurations, I believe I have the K 28 in my garage but I have no way of knowing as the ID plate has been removed. Unfortunately my father lacked any and all skills on record keeping, I will post some pictures I took from when I was on a list about a year ago

I would guess the turbo was changed out to a K29 or a K29/K27 hybrid. I had the hybrid turbo on my 86 turbo with a 3.4, sc cams and still running CIS and it pulled like a beast to redline and had more power coming. A friend dyno'd the car and it pulled 400whp at 1 bar.

I remember being in the car with my father as he raced sport bikes on the interstate from a rolling 50 mph start and we would pull away from them, The car has seen 200 mph a couple of times. I have a 450wrhp mustang that feels like I'm driving our expedition compared to it

Thanks for filling us in. Most 959 replicas look horrible. This one actually had me comparing pictures side by side. They did a great job on the body.

From a buyers perspective I would adjust the ride height in the front and swap out the head light lenses to clear (im assuming they are some sort of lexan?). Other than those two small items, I hope you get top dollar.

My original post was more aimed at, "Hmmmm, I wonder if I could get this for within my mental budget." But you are out of my 'third toy car price range'.

I don't want to mess with the ride height as the car is dialed in so to say and handles like a go cart, I have looked around for clear lenses to no avail to replace the front green colored ones. As for it being identical to a 959 body, it's too much to get into on the forum but serious buyers will get the full story on the car.

Car appraised for $85k so I'm thinking something in that ballpark.

I wouldn't doubt it as the car probably weighs 2000 lbs. My mechanic has a customer's 959 rep and he said that car was crazy fast because it is light with a modded turbo motor.

If you are selling the car, it would help if you get the specs for the motor. I know it would be very hard to do, but it will be worth it. Also, if you can find out about the body and suspension. I see the coilovers on what looks like the standard 911 trailing arms, not the turbo arms. What about brakes?

I've been thinking of getting the car weighed, as for the suspension can't answer about the arms but ill look into it. The brakes are more than adequate but have never looked at them close so I will have to inspect and research them

Car is worth more as a 77 911. I would "restore" it back to the way it was before it was fitted with this kit. To me it's worth the current price of a 77 911 minus the cost of a "restoration" back to original.

Did you mean $8,500.00? I guess you can ask for whatever you want. But, the guys on this forum are a little sharper than that bud. Anyway, good luck with the sale.
