Moving to Spain: Where to buy a 2nd hand California?

    Hi,
    I am a Scot, currently living in the Far East who will retire to the Marbella area of Spain at the end of the year.
    Having made an enquiry about local Ferrari dealer, it seems there is nothing near Marbella.
    Therefore, what is the best specialist/Ferrari dealer to deal with on European mainland ?(as I need to buy a LHD model obviously). I could then just drive it to Spain.

    Are there then any issues of registering it there or can it stay on whatever country's plates I by it on?

    Also, any advice re insurers would be much appreciated.

    Just checked the internet:
    80-100 Californias in Germany
    60 Italy
    50 France
    14 Spain

    If a foreign car stays in a Germany for longer than 1 year it needs German plates.
    I think it will be similar in Spain.
    40 Californias are for sale in Switzerland. However since Switzland is not in the EU you would have to pay VAT (18%).

    Welcome to Marbella! I just moved there in April and love it.

    In regards to the car situation I am also trying to find out the best solution for many situations. I'm looking to buy a few cars and Germany (mobile.de) seems to be the best solution. But there is a Ferrari dealer there as Giorgio mentioned.
