That's in my other small garage. I do get it out regularly though. Here's a couple of days ago.

Wow, amazing cars. What do you own exactly??

Maybe you could rent og borrow a warehouse instead? Isn't it annoying to have cars at that many difference locations? I am not contemplating building a new big fancy home garage, but maybe a place like your friends, but bigger? :)

Here is an idea that those of you with old cars and who work on them at home might find useful. I keep my spare parts in this office filing system, usually called a compactor because it does away with the aisles that separate the shelves. The shelves roll on tracks easily, even if heavily loaded.

Keeping an inventory of spare parts is not so important in these days of mail order, but somehow spares and car parts do accumulate, so the compactor system is useful, particularly if floor space is limited, as in my garage.

    Regards,

    Andres

Good idea Andres, but if I'm not mistaken that filing system is very expensive unless it can be had during an office close down sale etc....

    They're all in my profile:

    1967 Porsche 911 hot rod
    1972 Ferrari Daytona
    1973 Porsche Carrera RS
    1979 BMW M1
    1982 Lamborghini Countach LP5000S
    1990 Ferrari F40
    1994 Ferrari 348 TB Challenge
    2001 Ferrari 550 Maranello

Yes, I could get a warehouse but I think that I like the arrangements I have now. For the most part, my cars are close enough and all get exercised regularly. Also, I feel like I can focus on the cars and not worry about a something like a building too.

When I was at Amelia Island this year I sat next a prominent collector at the Gooding Auction and we shared stories about our collection. He has a great garage now with ingenious displays for his cars and awards but he said when he was my age and started collecting, he would go to all the widows in town and use their extra garage spaces. I thought that was awesome.

I figure that if I move I will make a big garage or if I stay in my current house, I will convert my 2000 sq ft basement into an underground garage via a lift buy the exit window. But if I do that, I have to live here for a long long time because the house will not be very sellable.

Andres, coming from you that means a lot. Your Stratos has been high only list for many years. I love your cars and your garage.

Ryan...amazing collection and really great taste in car choices (similar to what I would have if I had the bucks :) ). I never knew you had so many great cars, shoulda checked your profile. Andres too, fantastic cars, been appreciative for years as you already know...and that garage! Actually was inspiration for me when I put down plastic floor tiles..went mainly with white after seeing your photos.

Thanks, mike. I think that you've probably had a lot of that collection in the past. Plus all that sweet hair which I, sadly, haven't had in some time. :(

I guess I must really be a car guy as I am lusting after those cabinets. I wonder if the Mrs would mind giving up her closet. I must ask.

Thanks, Nick, Sherpa, Mike. (Sherpa, the only change I would make to your incredible collection would be to get the early Countach. But I'll be happy with any model!)

Wang, the compactor shelves are not overly expensive, since they are intended for offices principally. Yes, they are sometimes available from closing-down sales, and that would be a hood bargain. AKJim, office filing and cabinet suppliers should have the shelves. They are quite a handy system, Mark.

    Regards,

    Andres

I really like the little bio you have on each car in your garage. Very nice touch and great collection. Thanks for sharing.

Are you going to Watkins Glen this weekend? I'll be there on Friday - not sure if I'm taking my F-car or not....
