Sort of makes me wonder if i should sell my 24K mile 77 silver/lobster cloth sport seat limited slip etc. to current interested buyers for Hagerty prices. The early ones feel so much different than the later ones, especially with some 1977 Porsche Motorsports performance engine mods. Probably the closest I'll ever get to owning a real 934 like the one in the B&W photos in idarts post above.

Wow, those are factory optional gauges? What was included in the factory performance mods? Wish I had the cash to buy it from you, even based on just the one gauge photo!

I keep rolling the idea around in my head that I should sell my 930, but someone mentioned to me that I would never be able to buy it again. I already regret selling one 911 (1972 911 coupe).

You could get 934-935 parts thru Porsche Motorsports back in the day to uprade your 930 to a higher level if you knew how or who to order them. Many race car builders like Kremer, Andial, Vasak Polak and others knew the way. Some on this forum may chime in with better info. I just bought this car ( and some others ) modded this way , many years ago, built as they are now.

That would be mine. Actually his second appearance here. The paint is pretty bad but I figure that means he attracts less attention when I drive/park him various places. I am also, at this time, unwilling to give him up for however long it would take to get a proper paint job. He has a few other issues that are slowly getting fixed. Slowly because I like to drive Porsches more than work on them and because I have other car projects.

    Thanks for posting the pictures.

Ok, I confess. I'm the idiot that sold the Albert Blue car to CPR. I've been avoiding this thread ever since! I will say that selling the blue car allowed me to buy some other very cool P-cars but nothing ever filled the void that was left after the Turbo was gone.

When this silver car popped in CO for $60k I had to jump on it. As you can imagine, the seller was flooded with emails. I was lucky to be the first one he called back. Happy to be back in the club guys.

idart- There seems to have been a few silver 3.0 930's in CO. Any idea what number Dr. Liddle’s car was? What are the odds? BTW, thanks for all of the great contributions to this thread.

I've been searching the archives at Rennlist as I'm bringing my German market '76 930 non-sunroof back to it's original spec to prepare for sale. I came across this interesting tidbit:

"non sunroof cars in '76 used the same prepared bodies as the type 934 cars, and for this reason they have a electrical shut off included same as the racecar."

Baron, a Rennlister who knows a lot about these cars, confirmed this in this thread:

Rennlist Discussion Forums - View Single Post - '76 Turbo Carrera #00061

Where can I find this electrical shutoff switch on my car? This is VERY cool if true!!!

Here are the after-restoration pics of the gorgeous Albert Blue 930. Does not have the original 15" Fuchs, and the fan is painted blue:

I now own #0061 it is a non sunroof car which was originally delivered to Vasek Polak, The Baron owns another 76 non sunroof car which is also white and was also delivered to Vasek Polak when new it is believed that those cars were sent as spare chassis for 934's if they were needed, my car does not have the cut off switch, I can find out if his car has it which is an 8,000 mile original car.

I also have (2) 1975 Homologation Turbos, one of which is a very early non sunroof car, that does have a cut off switch but Im not sure if it is original or was installed by the previous owner, that car is 100% original never restored.

Charles, It IS one of my all time favorites , however recent offers have been tempting. I since have bought a few more ( I had sold 4 stock ones to a German buyer ) since you were last here, so after 12 years of ownership ???. Yesterday I took it for a spirited drive. After a long winter I had forgotten what it was like. Usually when i commit to sell during winter, early spring, drive it with the buyer for a test drive, then regret accepting the offer.

Congrats on your ’76 Turbo Carrera. It was bargain priced; especially when you consider that by the description it was always in Colorado and always garaged. My ’75 Turbo is in an amazing state of preservation and I attribute the condition to being in the Colorado dry-high altitude climate from new, always garaged, and seldom driven in the snow or rain (the 1975 Seattle Porsche Parade an exception as it poured rain during the event).

Did your car come with a PCNA COA? It would be interesting to find out if the front lobster seats that were originally with your car had tartan dress cloth inserts.

Dr. Liddle bought his ’76 Turbo Carrera in Jan ’76 and I believe this would place his chassis number in the 100’s so I don’t believe it is your car.

    Congrats again – awesome car.

I posted a few weeks ago asking if anyone knew a Dr. Livolsi who owned a copper brown turbo from 1976. The car was supplied by rusnak porsche, California. I know the US is a big place, but porsche guy's tend to hang out together! He owned the car for circa 25 years! Anyone know either him or the car? Thanks!

This 1/43 scale 1975 930 Turbo model from Minichamps looks accurate including the correct 1975-style body colored manual mirror.

8 & 9 x 15 RS 3.0 Fuchs nicely fill out the fenders of the 3.0 liter 930s. As I mentioned before, the 9 x 15’s are superleggera; not worthy of adding extra weight of Porsche center caps. It’s not surprising that in the 1970s, these Fuchs were the first choice on 3-liter 930s for track events where unsprung weight was critical.

Increased insurance valuations for the 3.0 turbo seem to have spread to Australia. A friend was offered $120k sight unseen insurance for his '77.

I don't have a COA but I will order one soon. I was wondering about the possibility of tartan myself but the rear seats are full leather. Was it possible to order tartan inserts for the front seats only?

Mine was built in March '76 so I guess it's just another silver Turbo Carrera from CO. I count 4 silver 3.0 turbos from CO so far, ours plus Dr Liddle's & 011. I assume the high altitude accounts for the seemingly high number of turbo cars sold in CO?

    Hi 4G6308

My Australian delivered 77 3.0 930 is full leather with cloth inserts only for the front seats, and it is original.

    Cheers
