I'm going from an R8 to a 458 and have been accused of going to the dark side, lol.

Congrats on the Lambo, the aventador is a beast.

I own two Lambos. They are fun. Nice to have something different. Let us know what you think of Aventador. Never driven one. They look stunning!

Cool new choice, please post impressions. I hear really bad reports on the tech and character of the car. But the looks are amazing.

Congratulations! I'd like to hear your driving impressions as well.

Don't worry, Lambo isn't really the dark side. Thats getting a Lexus SUV instead of your sports car! :p

Great looking car. Not sure you'll enjoy the gearbox when stuck in traffic on the 401 or the Gardiner though.

So I took delivery today and drove the car for the first time. It is definitely different. The transmission on the 458 is light years ahead. The Aventador is like my 2006 M5. Otherwise, I love the sound and performance of the V12. The Aventador tricks you into believing that it is slower than the 458 but the speedo doesn't lie. It is a BIG beast with many blind spots but it is certainly a car with TONS of character. The jury is still out. I will report back in a couple of weeks.

    Cheers,
    Osama

    Gorgeous Car !
There's a couple of things you can do for a better shifting Transmission .
You can do a Software update and adjust the throttle controls. ( No charge at the Dealer)
Also try driving the car in M mode and you will notice a big difference on how smooth the car shifts.
I agree the 458 has a better transmission (Duel Clutch VS Single) duel will always win and nobody does it better then Ferrari IMO .
I'm almost 3 weeks in on mine and I can't stop smiling every time I drive it!
If you like Pm and we can discuss it further ..

Looks amazing. I've heard that they are very unreliable and cost a ton to maintain. Is there any truth to that statement?

Here is a quote from a thread on another forum:

"My LP700, went through, 2 repaints, at factory, 2 x Ecus,, 2x fuel pressure ecus, 2 Clutches, 2 gearboxes, One screen, One dash set,9 x SW reboots, and stuck in an earth quake...this is in addition to breaking down......98% of the time I drove it.....all in 9 months and 3k miles....Never again.....In the 80s I had 75 Espada, that was more reliable...."

Would be interesting to know more owners opinions on this. It's an amazing car and looks better than anything on the road IMO. But compared to a 458 (which is bulletproof)...
