Long story short, my 996 Turbo had massive hail damage Tuesday night. To avoid having a salvage title, I am selling it to a dealer that will then repair it. I was kind of at a loss replacement wise, until I stumbled upon this 2000 360. The good? It's a three-pedal car. The better? It has service records and a recent major. The best? It has a Fabspeed exhaust. The bad? I wish it had a tan interior. Very glad it comes with service records. These cars are not easy to find. Sure, you can find them with a stick, or with service records, or with a roof (not Spyder), .... you get the idea.

Anyway, should be here in about a week and a half. It's going to be my daily driver for a while, as I took the hail opportunity to sell my current daily in addition to the beetle. We'll see how it goes! Hope it doesn't melt in the rain ;)

Congrats. The 360 Modena is a great car. I much prefer it to the F1. :D

Well Bought! Good Job, please post often of your experience. DD-ing it you should get quickly familiar with it. Great Job!
Also would love to get contrasts and comparisons to your outgoing turbo.

FWIW, black interiors seem to age well and are easy to care for. Make sure you treat your leather often.

For a car used often like a daily, the black leather is much preffered. I have black in my 360. My F430 F1 Spider is with tan leather.

Very nice find well equipped with shields, Challenge rear grille, Fabspeed system, carbon air boxes? The black interior looks fine -- is that red stitching as it's difficult to tell in their photos? IMO the mileage is good for the year but the garage queens may disagree. :) Did you have a PPI done and did the major service include cam belts. transmission and coolant change as well as power steering fluid and clutch and brake fluids? If so you are good to go for a while and as they say on TV the price is right.

The Modena can be a manual or an F1.

Looks like it has the Fabspeed carbon airboxes and silicone hose kit as well. That car will sound great!! Looks like a good buy and I am looking forward to hearing your impressions/comparisons coming from the Turbo.

The stitching is black. A little plain-jane, but easier to keep clean than red--at least for a drivers car. As long as these cars are cared for properly, there's no reason keep them locked away. I used to be like that. Drive a car once a month because "it was too nice," but I've since changed my tune. My view now is, if you're going to have something, why not enjoy it?

No PPI done. Honestly, I've never done a PPI. The only real bad experience I had to date was my S600 had some big deferred maintenance issues, but they all have those problems (in other words, I was expecting it).

The cam belts were changed yes, but my swiss-cheese brain can't remember when he said. I'd like to say they were done at 25 or 26k miles? I did not ask about the fluids, as I'll have Dave Helms go over the car when it arrives.

Speaking of the price, they were firm on it, but for $72k I'm happy. The other cars I was considering were a F355 GTB (good luck finding a 1999 with a stick and reasonable miles) and a 2008 CL65. The CL65 will be my next car. I'm in the mood for something different. The CL65 is just a faster, two door version of my S600. Oh, and a bit newer. Big whoop. LOL.

    Cheers,
    Ricky

Thanks! I will post updates as I can! The Porsche was a great car, absolutely loved it--and I'm very sorry to see it go. It was an 03 in Arena Red with the PCCB's, the X50 pack, and an authentic GT2 bodykit. Needless to say, it was a screamer. With that said, it was so fast that it was hard to ever enjoy it. As soon as you hit turbo boost, in any gear, you were instantly doing Mach 3. On the flip-side, at least it reminded you of when you were speeding. ;) My only real complaint about the car was the gas tank size. It took 12.5 gallons from when the reserve light came on, so I only got about 180 miles per tank.

Very nice! Any concerns at all on the non-USA market origin on the VIN? (if I'm reading it right and recall, a 'B' in position 8 means it was sold first outside the USA and needed DOT cert in the state registered?)

Rick- You can always recover just the seats in beige leather, and even add black Daytona stripes, for about $5K from sponsor Bradan. Beige seats with the rest of the interior black will look great.

Not a bad price for a euro! Perhaps consider getting it inspected once you get it home..

Thanks for the info Evan. I have Fabspeed headers, cat bypass pipes, and muffler bypass pipes on my 99 C2. Sounds just fantastic. I've been listening to youtube videos of the 360's with Fabspeed and they sound equally as good.

Finally got the email from the seller. Belts were done 100 miles ago along with all the fluids. Brakes were done at 26k.

^^^^^That's why I waited so long. I was kind of afraid of that. My father has a '99 355GTS, and had a 2002 456GT/M. Both of which I loved driving.

Thank you for the warm welcome,
    Ricky

Another update, looks like I'm all set. The wire transfer is sent off, papers are signed, and my left kidney being removed as I type. ;)

Originally I was going to have it shipped back up here. Luckily(?), I had second thoughts about it, so I'm paying a friend to tag along with me to pick it up this weekend. We'll head out tomorrow morning and should arrive in Arizona late tomorrow night. I just need to reach Joey again to make sure the dealer will be open on Saturday for me to take delivery.

I really must be excited for this, as this is the first time that I've personally gone out to get a car. First time for everything though I suppose. Should be an easy trip. 13-14 hours according to Google.
