Looking for feedback and photos of alcantara carpets. What are the advantages? Do they look much better? Having never experienced them, my first assumption is that they aren't very durable, and would wear down fairly quickly. Are they made of the exact same material as alcantara upholstery? Thank you for the info.

Well I have them ... I bought the car 2nd hand if honest, so didn't choose them but did like the look ... pros, it does look really good ... the cons, you have to hoover them a lot (not clean) just hoover them ... to keep them looking good. Just footprints from getting in and out of it ... alters it's look and so I end up mini hoover in hand quite often, but am happy I have it to be fair, it is a good finish/texture.

Just my opinion, you choose a different carpet only when you buy car like Rolls Royce. But for sport car, you want things to be light and easy to take care.

Correct - Beige. I didn't like the color / shade of the Castoro carpets so went with the beige alcantara instead. It is a much closer match to the beige leather.

Yes. I see it is lighter in shade than the castoro carpets. Beautiful car.

Congrats on a beautiful car. I am currently going through my configuration process with the dealer. I have been working on it for a few weeks now. I look at hundreds of photos and contemplate a variety of options. I have built two options at my dealer, one with beige interior and one with black. Still, I am very traditional, so I fairly certain I will be doing this, though I may change a few things:

    - Rosso Corsa
    - Beige
    - Castoro carpets
    - Standard rims
    - Racing seats
    - Rosso stitching on beige leather only (have not decided which stitch option yet)
    - Nero stiching by request on wheel and dash
    - Cavallino in rosso on headrest
    - Shields
    - Rosso Corsa Calipers
    - Full carbon fiber interior options, including upper tunnel & door sill (not door panels)
    - Full black dash & steering wheel
    - Black leather headliner
    - Standard black leather upper
    - Beige leather rear shelf
    - beige leather lower tunnel
    - Black belts
    - Electric steering column
    - internal/external electrochromatic mirrors w/ homelink
    - Suspension lift
    - AFS
    - Front/rear sensors
    - Parking camera
    - Sat. radio/nav system
    - Cruise control
    - Yellow rev counter

The only thing I may change is the leather and carpets to black. I struggle, because I love both, but I tend to like to classic red/beige combination a little more. We shall see.

    Very nice Mats :)

If anyone is looking for custom Alcantara mats - aftermarket - we can make them! The pair above is our work!

Just bought my second F-car and it had Alcantara carpets headliner door inserts. I liked the idea because, frankly, the standard carpet in my prior F-car was not exactly luxury material. Got little use so it may not be important.

The new stuff looks good, feels good. However, even street dust on your shoes leaves a visable tattoo on the carpet. I can see the treads from the bottem of the shoes of everyone who rides in the car. I assume a quick vacume will tune them up whenever needed. Lookling at the option price list I probably would not pay for them as an option. I have carpets, mats. headliner, trunk and it is a good amount of money.

Reminds me of a Stradale though.

That sounds like a sweet ride but are you sure about the "standard wheels" rather than the 20inch sport wheels. I think the standards are 19s and it would be a shame to have a fully optioned car like that but with the cheap wheels. Resale I would think will be tougher too as most folks that will spend $ for lots of options are going to want the wheel upgrades. Obviously if you don't want the sport wheels at least get 20s with aftermarket. Your car is almost exactly like mine except I did Nero inside with Rosso stitching and horses. The diamond wheels are amazing.

Also get the stitching in the "thick" format.

I agonized over this same decision for the 2015 I just spec'd. While the Alcantara really ups the interior surface quality, it exposes a number of shortcomings in the fit/finish of the vehicle that really bugged me. The floor is basically a big plastic tub, and the Alcantara accentuates that effect since you can see/feel every bump and gap that are normally hidden by the carpet. This was particularly bad in the foot wells and behind the seats, and to me felt like an overall detraction from the quality of the rest of the vehicle.

Worth noting that this car has about 8k miles, and I couldn't find any permanent damage to the floor. I think it's actually a very resilient surface. Big issue is dirt/imprints.

That's black Alcantara, even though it doesn't photograph well. For what it's worth, I think the beige Alcantara floors look way better since it matches the beige leather nicely and the gaps don't seem to catch the eye as much. With black carpet, you kind of want it to disappear and the Alcantara does *not* do that. To the contrary, it almost screams "look at me, I'm the floor!"

I have the beige alcantara carpet, headliner and arm rests installed. All I can tell you is that I do not have the gaps, bumps, and the two holes in the passenger side floor that you pointed out in another thread. I have the two very narrow handgrip openings / slits at the bottom of the battery compartment door that are completely covered in alcantara and are hidden by the floor mats. Whoever installed that black alcantara carpet did a lousy job. I wonder if an aftermarket audio or radar installer removed the carpets to run their wires and then reinstalled the alcantara carpet? I would like to believe it is the exception and not the rule.

Thanks for your thoughts about the rims. I admit that I have struggled with choosing my wheels. Call me crazy, but I actually like the standard rims. I think the word "standard" makes us all feel like there is something wrong with them. I think they have a great, sporty look. Still, I also love the first upgrade sport wheels. I'm personally not a fan of the chrome, diamond or black options).

The issue I have with the sport rims is that I always felt they are to thin and expose a bit too much of the carbon brakes. If they were just slightly thicker, I wouldn't think twice about getting them. I am still working through all of these options, so I may still go with the sport wheels.

Interested in overall durability. For me the touch of alcantara is just creepy. Like fingernails on a chalkboard creepy. When used on a hi use surface like a steering wheel or seat insert it seems to weather horribly. Has anyone else experienced this?
