Got my car back.

Not sure if there is a reset for that but you can always try disconnecting the car battery, wait for a moment, then reconnect it. The slow down lights on my car use to flicker and had nothing to do with over heating. I traced the thermal couple wire from the cat to the ecu in the rear, noticed it was rubbing at the edges so I used thermal tape to insulate the wire. It fixed my problem. If you get the slow down lights just by starting up the car when cold, its most likely a wire malfunction, check the wiring again, fix or get new thermal couple wire. You can try swapping the wire from 5/8 with 1/4 and see if the light shows up for 5/8 lights to determine if its wire related vs ECU- which is alot more expensive to fix/replace.

Do these cats have a port for the thermocouples? Or are they just not connected at all? If so, that's where I'd look first.

 

Not sure if that's a "common" problem. I've had two Mondials (QV and 3.2) and haven't seen that. Maybe I've just been lucky?

 

I had a slow down light on my 3.2 that would flicker a bit after about 10 minutes of driving, then come on solid after about five or 10 more minutes. My thermocouple was shot. I replaced the thermocouple and that solved it for me.

If the slow down light is on all the time, maybe your thermocouple bears inspection.

 

Common for neglected Mondials because, for some, it may be too expensive to fix. For another example, someone snipped off the red LEDs inside the check panel on my previous Mondial 8 instead of troubleshooting and fixing the systems.
