His car was used for one at last year's Lamborghini Giro event so this another similar piece. Thanks for posting it.
Here's a better link: Thiesen - Vehicle Gallery View I'm going to guess 200K euros. Very stingy with the detailed information.
This car was one month ago for sale for around 145k€ in Paris. The current price is now 159k€.
The 145 tracks with US $ prices here for top cars. That one looks nice but I don't think it was a rotisserie restoration. The underneath looks more like it was a solid car that got painted and the engine & interior were done. Which is a lot! Do you know the chassis number?
it is a several years restoration supervised by Edmond CICLET in France. yes it is not a "rotisserie" restoration, but the all mechanical components are new - done by CICLET, body was stripped off, new electric loop, interior is original but "cleaned" it offered to me last year, around september for 120k , I believed it was too high for the Espada market, and I still believe it is too high today !
Dark grey EBay Espada just sold for $90k. Had a partial re paint, needed some interior work. I would give that car a 7/10. Came from a good collector though, so hopefully mechanical was sorted.
To me that's a pretty good indicator that we've now moved into "Flipperville". This won't end nicely at some point. The question is how far will they drop back down? Maybe I should sell?
Which car was that? This one is silver and I assume it sold off eBay. Lamborghini Other Only 1 Owner from New 18 745 Original Miles | eBay
No, it is not the silver one. The eBay dark silver one was offered by Sunset Classics, Minneapolis, MN: Classic Cars for Sale: Classic Car Auctions and Cars for Sale
From that same seller this is just nuts! No bubble? 1961 23-Window VW Bus for Sale After Beautiful Resto Too much money chasing stupid stuff.
My favorite line in the description: "I wouldn't be surprised if these rare 23 Window Deluxe Sambas topped a half million dollars in the coming decade" I guess we all have to decide what car we will spend our extra half million dollars on -- interesting as it is, I will state here and now that I am unlikely to choose a VW bus. +1 I'd have to start taking a lot of the types of drugs they used to transport in those before I'd think about buying one. Maybe it was autographed by Donovan, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane and the Grateful Dead? Pretty hard to do ...
I only hope that one can realize how cheap these are to restore perfectly. Add the fact that ones needing resto can be had pretty cheap. I had seen one in the teens. You can buy and restore one for less than 50 or 60 grand.
There is apparently no lack of enthusiasm for these VW busses. This one is the craziest (most "needy" one) I have come across: Just a car guy : 1957 Deluxe VW 23 window bus pulled from a lake in Norway after 36 years submerged...
