Today, my Euro QV gave it's first indication of going bad. So..I'll probably be in the market pretty soon.

The new circuits boards arrived yesterday, i had some time today to assemble a preproduction sample board. See below for the board after the reflow soldering, looks good :) Next step is doing final testing of the sample board and then sending the components and boards to the company doing the assembly

In all seriousness that is a fine looking circuit board. Nicely done.

Manufacturing is done, i'll got a nice package with 25 assembled 308 Speedo boards. Will flash the firmware and do a burn in test for each, then they are ready to go!

The price for a single board is €58 / $80 plus postage.

    1. If you want to order one, first make sure that your 308 is supported by taking a look at the attached table which shows all supported cars. In general, all 308's which have the top mounted gearbox sensor are supported.

    2. Let me know if you need the board for a Speedo miles to km/h conversion, then you'll get a special version of the board (same price).

    3. Send me an email to the mail address shown in red below, indicating the amount of boards you want and your delivery address. I'll add the shipping cost and send you the overall amount and my Paypal address.

    Cheers,
    Adrian

    Hi Adrian,

I guess I haven't checked FerrariChat in over a year and I just saw this. I wanted to say nice work regarding your speedo replacement and your sender redesign. I got a kick out of reading your threads. It is about time! These are beautiful cars and I am glad to see that folks are still very actively supporting them. The internet is the largest service manual in the world with professional help due to folks like you and many others.

    Best Regards,

You need to send me the board for flashing a different software (this is for free, expect shipping), the hardware is identical between both board versions.

Ok, thanks! Btw maybe I misunderstand, but the conversion board is to be used with a mph faceplate?

If you have a mph Speedo and you want to convert to an kmh Speedo, you need an kmh faceplate (i believe Eurospares sells them) and the "conversion" board.

For a mph or kmh Speedo the standard board is required. (Your speedo with the combined mph/kmh faceplate is similar to a mph or kmh Speedo).

??? I'm sorry but now I understand less. Why do I need a conversion board if I change the faceplate? When the needle points to 62mph on my speedo wouldn't it just point to 100 on the kmh scaled fp and 180 is aprox 300 whitch is max for the two?

Is it for the max 80 speedo maybe? Anyways it would be cheaper and usefull for me to have a max 180kmh speedo than buying that expensive faceplate from eurospares

You would need a conversion board to make an mph ODO count in kilometers. If you only change the faceplate from an mph to an kmh type and recalibrate the Speedo then the ODO would still count in miles.

Ach so! :) But is it possible to recalibrate the board to show max 180kmh?

The onboard Speedo calibration allows you to calibrate the Speedo needle to all types of faceplates (mph, kmh, or both). It does not limit the maximum displayed speed though.

I understand, but I was thinking of range on the output. If I wanted to use the Mph faceplate to act as a Kmh fp instead.... I'm sorry to ask so many stupid questions, but as I wrote earlier, it would be cheaper for me to use my exsisting mph faceplate as an kmh faceplate. I only use the speedo to keep myself out of jail. :)

I've never tried that (using an mph faceplate to display kmh), not sure the calibration range is sufficient.

There is a "dual range" face plate, in one of my cars.

It's primarily a North American unit, odo reads in miles, but the inner ring of numbers reads in kmH equivalents.

really I have always felt the faceplate conversions and all that, it would easier to just find/swap/buy/barter, for the part you need for your market.
