Does anyone have any experience with any of the Cavanaugh Flight Museum warbird rides, I want to give my father (83 yrs. old and in great shape) a ride in the Mustang. I've been to the museum and thought it was fantastic and was just wondering if anyone's had any personal experiences with the museum or any of the warbird rides.

    Thanks

I never bought a ride since I have my own but I know several of the employees there and have visited several times. I highly recommend you get the ride for him. But I would make sure he is physically fit to get into the back seat of the airplane. It is a tight fit and pretty difficult to maneuver into the seat.

I think Stuart gives the P-51 rides and a good friend of mine Kevin, gives the T-6 and Stearman rides.

Any other questions please feel free to PM

    Mike

    Thank you Mike,

I wanted to surprise him with it, but perhaps I should let him know before hand if maybe he thinks he couldn't do it. I just wanted to avoid all the "you shouldn't have done that, it's too much money" etc. I'll stop in at the museum and talk with them about it as well.

    Thanks.

I bought my father in law a ride in the T-6 several years ago. Great experience. He trained in the T-6 years ago and it brought back lots of memories for him. He said the pilot was very skilled and they had a lot of fun. This particular T-6 had stick and rudder in the back seat and the pilot even let my FIL have some stick time.

Take a camera as you will get to be right there when they board and taxi. We even walked out to the flight line and got some great pics of their fly bys.
