I am installing after-market wheels and looking for a set of TMPS for a 2008 Ferrari Scuderia. Any idea where I can get a set at a reasonable price ???

I just also installed a set of after-market wheels on my benz and paid $150 on ebay for a set of 4 and they were OEM and I have not had any issue and they work perfect.

    thanks

Tire Rack had them for about $98 each for the F430. I would assume they're the same for the Scud but I'm sure they will be able to confirm that.

FWIW I tried the Tire Rack sensors when the batteries went on my '07's OEM devices. They would not synch with the control unit, and I was forced to go to back to Ferrari parts at greater cost. I don't know why they did not work; they should have.

Can you just have them moved from your exisiting wheels to your new set and then not have to buy them?

I found a set of OEM. So my question is when I install, them into my new set of aftermarket wheels. Will the TMPS automatically sync or will they need a computer to sync to the computer ???

Just replaced them on my F430. Bought OEM set from dealer and they sync as soon as you calibrate per the manual. No need for dealer to sync.

I reviewed the manual and it shows a button under the dash. BUT I do not see it. I checked and there are NO buttons under the dash.

Has anyone had to recalibrate their TMPS in a scuderia ???

From memory, the Scuderia does not have a calibrate TPMS button as the TPMS fitted to the Scuderia was the later design which automatically detects TPMS wheel sensors and their location on the car at key on, confirming it during the first phase of the drive cycle.

Therefore, no need for a manual calibration.

I tried an after market TMPS and it did not work. We reinstalled the OEM and poof...... no issues : (

I did have some conversations with the local ferrari service department and they did state that the ECU would have to be updated...... well maybe they were correct.

Note that I also spoke to the rep for the TMPS prior to reinstalling the OEM sensors and he also did some research and said that he could not find enough supporting info to verify what needed to be done. He also stated that Ferrari does not play well in the sandbox and no info available. His request was to put the OEM sensors back in........

ok . . . . done and now on for another drama mod.

lowering the suspension ??? hmmmmm, why i do ... what i do ???

Unless it is a Huf (formerly BERU) sensor, it will not work with your TPMS.

If you fit new sensors, nothing has to be done with the TPMS on the Scuderia (North America cars only) as it will just learn the new sensors. Absolutely no requirement to do any updating of the ECU. Fit the new sensors, switch on ignition, wait about 30 seconds and pressures will appear on the display and then drive off. Job done.

There is nothing to do, at all.

If you purchase the correct sensors, all you need to do is install them in the rims, fit the rims to the car, wait about 30 seconds (until you see the pressures on the dash), and then off you drive. The system automatically detects them and starts monitoring them.

If you can post a link to the sensors you tried, I may be able to confirm why they didn't work.

I recently installed new OEM sensors on my 16M. The car seems to have a hard time registering the new wheels. I drove the car about 5 miles with a total drive/idle time of about 20 minutes. Any ideas?

IIRC the dealer may have to calibrate them.

I bought one from Tire Rack and it didn't work.

Do you know the process? I have an OBD2 reader if that helps.

I am most frustrated that I spent the extra money for OEM sensors and I still need to visit the dealer!???

No. Sorry. They were kind enough to waive the $100 calibration fee when one of my sensors were replaced.
