looks like your starting with a nice clean one, that helps immensely.

Todd, unfortunately time is not kind to parts that outgas and degrade as the clock ticks away, at nearly 30yrs old most all the rubber hoses and anything not metal in the fuel system will need to be replaced. Add in the hoses running fore/aft and suspension bits, etc.. foam backing in the interior, and ventilation system, esp up front.

The big unknown is body condition, we've all seen what can be hiding under the paint.

Oh I know, almost all the rubber, suspension and every hose, on my 85 is being replaced, surprisingly the door and top moldings are in great condition.

Your engine looks impressively clean. What did you use on it to clean it up?

Be careful on this project. Its a very slippery slope. Restore the seats and now the dash looks out of place...restore the dash and now the head liner looks scruffy..never ends.

I would be surprised if a 328 had any real rust. If its mostly original paint etc I would keep it. In the US and EU original cars are worth more. Cars with 'patina' are more desirable.

The engine is fine good comp it had one oil leak from the cam cover blows no smoke on start up hot or cold replace seals and some gaskets putting a new clutch kit in water pump and needs 3 valve shims the cams have no sign of wear on them at all what ever it needs its getting done . If it needed a rebuild I would've done it

What a great idea! There have been discussions here on how to renew the finish but this idea is great. What adhesive did you use to bond it to the top?

Arguable. The biggest ticket non-vetro sales in the US have been restorations to my knowledge.
