the guy selling it sometime last year asked me to test drive it and tell him what needs sorting.....so if anyone is interested in this car, i can give a quick overview on what needs to be changed/done at least to my knowledge and little experience i have on the 348..something is better than nothing....lol....no PPI on the engine though but seems good.....

LOL @ being a samurai. We're not exactly all harakiri and kamikaze anymore, but the superbikes, yes, definitely. In fact, I'm still trying to decide what to do with my Hayabusa back at home.

I'm currently checking out to see if I can get a loan on such an old car before I even consider getting it checked up. We'll see.

Yes, I've heard about and been briefed on the MM2H program. Since I sold my old F355 back in Japan, there'd be nothing for me to bring over, though. I do still have a CLS63 AMG. Maybe I can import that here...

I think it's a continuation of the mp4 but has P1 headlights & some upgrades & surprisingly, they kept the earlier model in production running along. Kind of redundant but current owners of MP4s are surely not pleased.

Ah another biker here? I just bought a mint '74 Kawasaki Z1A on eBay :D & will be importing it to Singapore but don't even have the license to ride it there cos we have a 3 tier class which I never had the time to upgrade. Am looking to perhaps collect some other 70s bikes ^_^ & would like to hear pointers if any?

Well, not exactly harsh but perhaps not refined is the word. I'm looking for a GT so comfort, power & beauty plus some boot space are required. Again, I found this car too much for Singapore's roads which are officially 50km/h & 90 on highways.

I find that the F1 still slags on "auto" & 612 is the same so paddle shifting is a must & Race is fantastic to bring the 599 alive but then one would be darting from traffic to traffic with such delicious torque & that sound. (My test car had remote exhaust valve control left open) The car would of course be a peach to use in Malaysia where there's abundance of roads.

I also didn't find that the gearbox is any faster than the Stradale which is surprising as they had a few more years of development but the 599 has a far more comfortable suspension, soaking up any unevenness on the road including speed humps, it simply glides over it, better than my Beemer! The 360CS will pick up every single detail on the ground which is great for driving but a PITA :D

yeap that's for sure!!!.....didn't know some of the ruts and holes existed on the road which leads in and out of my neighbourhood....now i know every single little depression, rut or hole and i am even alert to avoid those ruts picked up from the Strad while driving something else!!!

maybe they think they have to have more models/variants in their lineup to bring in more bucks!!!!! just getting more main stream.... just look at Porsches......why would they need a boxster and a cayman and then the 911s? all mind you in three thousand milllion different versions!!! still they all sell like hot cakes......

hey bring back something....i mean if you get into this programme please don't waste it....plus you're from Japan.....go buy back another 355 or something and bring it back!!! you should have kept the 355 and sold the cls man!!! (i'm not a fan of the 355! but still!!!) you're here, the cls is depreciating everyday wherelse the 355 would still hold on to it's value even if you return home back in 5-6 years!!! you gonna tell me the cls is more practical right!!!

Hi. I spent the last few days in Malaysia including KL (bangsar). Great country but what is with all the speed bumps???? And some are massive.

Man I wish I had one of my cars here when I went up to Cameron Highlands during the week. Went up one way, came down the other.

They really should do a Top Gear episode here.

Hi, generally because some Malaysian drivers are irresponsible and tend to drive fast and dangerously at the wrong places. Hence the speed bumps.

We have some great roads to Cameron, old and new road, and also Fraser's Hill and Genting Highlands. Another great drive is using the coastal roads to Kelantan.

Singapore drivers are the worst, they don't signal and hog the lanes on the extreme right .
They seem to do that in the neighboring countries too.

Having humps is good but the roads in KL is pretty messed up and so is Singapore now.

We have tree roots underneath and the roads on the expressway (cte) is bumpy as hell.

    Just ranting :)

Hi glad that you enjoyed yourself here. Some of us actually contacted Top gear to do a race from Singapore to Thailand couple of years back as I suggested to pit one of my car against a friend's superboat :D

Now that you asked, we could look at it again.

Ah every country has their fair share of devils & angels but yes some Sgp drivers behave like they do at home & hog the lane overseas. These are the ones that get flashed & hope they smile :D

Hi guys, does anyone know of other hilly/scenic drives?

How about Hulu Terranganu lake area but going around it is too far for a day trip from KL so where do you suggest to camp?

Tasik Temengor? There's a nice bridge over the lake area as well & leads to hills.
