I'm beginning to configure my Speciale, and I'm curious about the CF sills I've seen in some interior pictures (see attached picture). Are these CF sills standard on Speciales or are they an option? Of course I'll go over my entire configuration with my dealer in detail when the time comes, but right now I'm just having fun looking at which CF bits are "standard" and which are "factory options". I've played around with the online configurator on my iPad, but it's a bit tedious and I'm not sure I'm seeing every option properly.

Btw, which CF options do you like best? Thank you :)

CF sills arguably uncessary, but very cool!
I'm going to guess they are an option.

I just finished configuring mine and the sills seem to be part of the base car i.e. not an option. Worth checking though. Personally I like the engine bay CF (and that's about it) but here its a stupidly priced option so will pass or get it from Capristo (at 1/3 the price) if I can't live without it.

Agreed. Unnecessary, but a nice touch :) I am poking around, and I haven't seen this item described as an "option" any where? I found an option described as "CEXS carbon fiber sill cover" (see attached picture), but this seems to be something different...I think.

I'm starting to think it may be standard. It's a nice touch so it would be a pleasant surprise if it's part of the base price of the car :) I like the CF engine bay also. It's a $7,888 USD option here in the US, but if I'm going to spend this much money on a car I may as well get some nice extras. I figure 100 years from now it won't matter anyway. LOL

They are standard... Except engine bay I do not have any CF options on mine - there's enough CF in the car IMO ...

That's a nice surprise. Thank you. The CF engine bay is a great choice. I may splurge and also spring for some CF wheel caps...just so I can pick out my red Speciale easier from all the others in the parking lot :)

I don't like the wheel caps. They don't really fit in the whole picture - if the shields were CF as well it would be a different situation...

Where I live there will be 100 guys with red Speciales (99 with NART stripes). I have to be different so i was thinking CF wheel caps, or I may go with yellow Speciale and NART stripe :)

Seriously, I thought the CF wheel caps might look good, but I haven't seen them in person. I'll look around and see if I can see them in person or maybe I can find a better picture online somewhere.

That door sill in carbon is standard on the Speciale. One of the primary difference between it and the regular 458.

My car has pretty much every single carbon option offered.

I like the CF sills. Glad they're standard. Do you have the CF wheel caps? I've never seen them in person on a car. I can't find a good picture of them on a car. If you have them, could you post a couple pictures if it's not too much trouble?

That's the only carbon fiber option not spec-ed on my car haha. Well that and the carbon mirrors.

It has everything else, carbon side sills and winglets, carbon diffuser and the flaps, carbon flaps for the 3 front aero bits, carbon vents on top of fenders.

Let me see...that's about a million dollars (only half joking) in CF options! I saw a picture of a Speciale with CF mirrors, and it just didn't seem right for some reason. CF mirrors on a stradale are part of the charm. But not on a Speciale IMHO.

From the Factory, the carbon mirrors cannot be configured for some odd reason. I tried to special request them through their in-house tailor-made program but they still won't do it. They insist that it is done at the dealer level as it is a "point of sale item".
However, they did fulfill my special request for carbon shields and door handles directly at the factory level in addition to every other possible carbon upgrade.

Not the clearest photos, speciale wheels with cf center caps on a buddy of mines. I kept the yellow ones because they pop lose to the shields in color.

The kick plate in carbon is standard in UK.
Don't like the whole sill in carbon, wheel centres or the fuel cap.
Mirrors are dealer fit option only and looking at them at the dealers would not fit them (£6500!), if they where like the LaFerrari mirrors yes they would look great.
I am going carbon wing tops and engine bay only.

Thanks for all the comments. Very helpful. I'll probably pass on the CF wheel caps. But the CF engine bay looks great!

It does look good on that white Speciale! I didn't see CF shields on the options list? Are these available as a factory option?

I presume its because your friend has more influence than I do... hehe! I don't know otherwise why they would reject making an additional 8grand.

Close haha. My options totalled almost 40% of the base price. Not my choice, had I spec it myself quite a few would be off the table. As it stands right now I am paying just about half a mil CAD for the car.

See pics and details on my thread 'My Speciale'. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/458-italia/451289-my-speciale.html

As my car is white and my previous 12C has carbon mirrors, I am having second thoughts about adding it.

I think it looks "clean" with white mirrors. No need for CF mirrors on this gem.

Off topic, but I'm sure someone here will know the answer. I noticed what appears to be a small fan that is somewhat visible through the left-rear grill (see attached picture). What is the purpose of this?
