I once read somewhere that a good black and white photograph has black, white and every shade in between in the picture. If you look at that color, which is truly celestial, it's amazing that it goes from a dark color to almost white blue with the reflections. Beautiful.

In the last two photos, what was going on with the driver's side rear fender on 07271?

JA karma I guess. In Modena I think he hit something, but at the GTB 40 th if I remember correctly a motorbike of the police hit him in the back,,and the gas tank started to leak,,,,and at Goodwood one of his other, non F , cars got the most impressive crash cum driver in recent years,,with Martin Stretton...reality he is a quick driver and accidents happen,,,

Bear in mind the subject car in Str8shooter's photographs is 275 GTB/C Series II #09073. The rear fender shape on the GTB/C differs quite a bit from that of a normal 275 GTB.

Three of the four 275 GTB cars I have had the pleasure to own and drive over the years.

The burgundy one is a Long Nose, shown on California Highway 1, at Big Sur, in 1978.
I bought it for 22,500 in 1977. It was in perfect condition, with only 12,000 miles on it.
I drove it every day, and sold it two years later for the same price, but it was totally clapped out by then, as it sat outside almost always.

The red one is a 4-cam model purchased in 1994 for 325k, and upgraded with velocity stacks.

The silver one was my first Ferrari, a short nose, purchased in 1974 in Chicago area, for only 8,500. Sold it two years later for the same price. It smoked like it was on fire.

    Sure do like these cars!
    :)

Yes, I understand that the photos I posted show the car at the Modena Cento Ore Classic in 2003 (heavy damage) and then again in 2005 (taped-up driver's side rear fender). The photos you posted today show the same car at the 275 Anniversary Tour in 2004 (taken in-between the photos that I posted) with what looks like an odd fixture of some sort on the same rear fender. My question is: What was that and is it related to the damage that was sustained in 2003, the tape used in 2005, or both?

Thank you. Much clearer now. :) It just looked really odd from a distance.

I assume that it was not related to the heavy damage in 2003 (as the rest of the car had been repaired), but that it could have been the reason for the tape in 2005 (fender not yet repaired). Or the tape in 2005 was due to fresh damage in the same area.

Mark there is reason why they call the 275 GTB 'the poor mans GTO'.
That expression comes from somewhere ;)

Hi Marcel, is the green 4 cam in the picture the famous " del rio " featured in the fall issue of automobille quarterly 1969? The article also mentions that the car "being a later production car had a sharper nose". Regards.....
