For once, we're not on the list. Amsterdam-based traffic and navigation services company TomTom has announced results from its annual global traffic survey. The provider says drivers around the globe spend an average of eight days of their lives stuck in traffic jams each year. Interestingly, the survey also shows traffic on secondary roads can actually be even more congested than on major streets. According to TomTom, the most traffic-jammed city in the world is Moscow, Russia, with traffic index of 74%. This number is based on comparison of travel times during non-jammed hours against those in peak hours experienced by passenger vehicles. In other words, a driver in the Russian capital suffers an average delay of 76 minutes per hour driven during peak travel times. So a trip that might take 60 minutes otherwise, will take over two hours during rush hour. This is the list of top 10 most congested cities in the world: Moscow, Russia: 74% Istanbul, Turkey: 62% Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: 55% Mexico City, Mexico: 54% São Paulo, Brazil: 46% Palermo, Italy: 39% Warsaw, Poland: 39% Rome, Italy: 37% Los Angeles, USA: 36% Dublin, Ireland: 35% TomTom CEO Harold Goddijn comments that the traditional responses to congestion, such as building new roads or widening existing ones are no longer proving to be effective. All and any of your sins are forgiven for posting that - what a shame JG has given up on Fchat... One of the few people I 'envy' - not because of his money, but because he knows what's important and how to enjoy it, and has somehow managed to figure it all out and make all his dreams come true. Very few people ever get that balance - IMHO, of course!
OMG, 53,996 posts and you haven't read this thread? http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/vintage-thru-365-gtc4-sponsored-vintage-driving-machines/423520-one-only-0846-debate-thread.html
400 years on fchat and you don't know ???!! 0846 was rebuilt from a door hinge (j/k) and some of the purists have been arguing ever since
Interesting blog read There's a long hill to climb in order for Formula E to take off | Autocar I like this part .. "The FE cars have six different power settings and we hear on the grapevine that the qualifying mode can only be used for a dozen or so laps before the battery is drained. This explains why the series is planning to have a car switch in mid-race.. "
FWIW, qualifying mode is 200kW (270bhp equivalent), race mode currently 133kW (180bhp). "Fan boost" will be 2.5sec @ 200kW. They're trying to increase race power to 170kW.
FFS Greg, when are you going to get it through your head I have no problem with people having money!!!! How do you think MY Fcar got delivered? The point is lots of people have lots of money; few really get to enjoy it - JG clearly does; plus he's been married to his childhood sweetheart (like at least one Fchatter I can think of) which is something I admire and envy above any amount of money.
Greg, why don't we just leave it that - please just block my posts. Perhaps one day you'll discover the difference between someone with a social conscience (me) and a socialist (not me).
