I vote Nico. That double-point race and the end could be a real season-killer though.

+1 I voted Nico but both would be deserving champs IMO. And as much as I like Vettel, I'm glad he won't be equaling Michael's 5 in a row. I really hope that record stands for all time.

Not really. There's no basis in fact to choose one over the other.

Yes there is. Furthermore, there's also basis in opinion. ;)

Statistically, this is not the same thing as a coin flip. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

One hundred fifty odd posts and not a compelling argument either way.
Which isn't surprising. Two very talented drivers in equal cars competing in an arena where luck has been playing a large role.
Through in the dual points wild card and its a toss up.

Not really. The reality is that the Merc is so superior to the rest of the field that the battle can only be between these two. Both drivers are quick and luck will play a big role in how it all ends, so, no, I'm not surprised the voting is close.

It would be more interesting if they has to battle other drivers. They're only battling each other and reliability issues with the car.

I understand all that, but not all that long ago Lewis was considered the second coming, and when Rosberg was line ball with a 44yo Schumacher, he was considered a mid field driver at best.

So, second coming v mid field??

    People are so fickle :)

Rosberg has always had talent, the question was how would he do against schumi, and he actually did very well. Hambone himself saw him as the second coming, that's his 'I'm the ghost of senna' arrogance, he's quick, but he is not the complete package he thinks he is, his head isn't his strongest asset, far too emotional and easily upset. Yes, senna was emotional, but he knew how to channel it to drive to greater heights, Hamilton just falls to pieces

Before Ham was the second coming, Nico was supposed to be that at Williams. :)

I think that most races these guys will be 1/2 or dnf. Hard to run away with anything in that scenario.

So, you're saying more "Villeneuve" than "Senna". :)

I think your assessment is fair. Ham has talent, but composure is iffy. That's a critical element of a champion.

I agree. Senna and schumi always had the ability to keep their emotions in check, in different ways, senna used them as fuel to destroy the competition, schumi simply refused mostly (until coulthard decided to give him a Glasgow kiss at spa I think) to let his emotions out at all, acting like a machine at all times. Hamilton seems to let his emotions rule his head at times, and acts petulantly, alienating people, including me, from recognising the talent he undoubtedly holds and preventing him from realising his dream of multiple championships. If you were a gambler, he's not someone you could realistically 'bet the house' on, as you never really know which Lewis will turn up

Look at Monaco, he destroyed his race all by himself by letting nicos antics (legit or not) upset him so badly, and I firmly believe that Wolff and others in the team have taken a step back from full support of him since, preferring the 'lapdog' that nico can be in pandering to whatever they want him to do

Makes me smile when posters pick apart a driver's personality, like there perfect themselves.
And I wonder, are you in the top ten in the world in your own career? Also it would be great to hear what your own work colleagues think about you, picking your personality apart as well as your ability to do your job. I wonder what your like on a bad day at work, do you sulk? Do you say things you wished you had not? If a work colleague screws you over on the Friday, are you best of work colleagues on the Monday completely for getting Friday?
The drivers are human there not perfect and have many flaws......like you.

Yes I remember MS hurling his helmet to the back of his pit garage in Monaco, after crashing, a very cool headed move, that's if your not a helmet.

They all show emotions, they are racing drivers hungry to win, just some are more hungry than others.

Senna was very emotional, and everyone saw it back in the day. Remember the Stewart interview for example.
