A guss I will see what happens after I do the service on the Black tan and get them both together again and fall in love with one or the other.

The shop I use wont have a spot for me to use for a few weeks so I will just have to look at two in the garage for now.

Sorry if I sound not right but after I sell one of my cars I dont think I will ever own two Countach in my lifetime so I need to indulge in the moments for now.

I can say this as long as I own any Countach it will be maintained the way it was ment to be, serviced like it should be cutting no corners.

And for the lucky person who ends up with the one that I let go they will end up with a STRONG car

Ok, I hope I'm not mixing up cars BUT remember the blue lp400s with the aftermarket wheels that's been for sale forever in Europe. It might also be the last lp400s but maybe other can confirm.
That should be on it's was to the US in Fla.
Price? I can't disclose because I do not know exact BUT let's just say the dealer had no idea of the recent surge and could not get out of the sale :)
In other words it pays to be on Lchat.....

I heard that a dealer offered it. They either cut out the floor and lowered it, thereby lowering the seat, or they just mounted the seats flat to get a little more headroom.

That is one awesome problem to have. Very cool pic.

For a plate, having 'decisions' would work too if you could get it to read correctly. Then you would have, decisions-decisions.:)

if it was the car in Swiss with crome wheels and sport not original seats, i can tell you this car needed everything ...like original seats, carbs, etc... i think it would be hard to make it all original again.
they were asking 200.000 euro for it that looked a lot of money

Maybe I'm not recalling correctly, but I believe the asking price did climb for that car over the long time which they had it.

As normal at this dealer... the car was originally for sale for 90k CHF a few years back, meanwhile it was moved from dealer to dealer and costs now a ridicolous sum.
This blue #1121464 is not the last LP400s, 1121468 1982 White White Last LP400S sold in USA Feb 1982.

I don't think pricing had anything to do with the Seller's lack of knowledge of current market, and everything to do with the car's past provenance & current disposition.

One of the Countach's I was interested in had the drivers seat lowered. This is GLA12932.

It was owned by SilverSurfer who posts here from time to time.

You can see in these 2 photos how the drivers seat is lower than the passenger seat.

I was told by the new owner the sale price, the sold price.....then dealer tries to cancel the contracted sale.....the new "for sale" price by the dealer which was significantly higher (hence lack of countach value knowledge)....then the potential costs, to the dealer, with lawyers and courts. Then the original sale and sold price.

Example numbers: try and get another 100k+ with new sale but have a dragged out lawsuit or pay 100k with lawyers, costs, settlement. Either way the 100k was gone.
As the several posts said recently, contract is a contract. This isn't an ebay contract.

Hey, all I care about is the car is coming to the US and to an ok guy who recently had life changing tragedy in his life. I'm happy for him.

I wish I could tell you Bob! Next time I see Ben, I'll ask him who did the conversion for him and if he knows how it is accomplished.

I think the track is removed, and basically the seat is bolted to the floor. I took my seat out, and looked into a possible, reversible solution. From what I could tell, it was nothing I wanted to pursue. The best choice if your really set on more head room would be to get a different seat altogether (like a Lotus Elise) and modify that to fit the car.

I had to do something to get comfortable ( sort of comfortable, that is ) so I removed the seat tracks and made up some mounts that place the seat base on the floor and up against the firewall. I can now sit in the car without holding my head to one side. The seat is at least an inch lower than standard and does not wobble any more.

The mounts are the sort of thing that any race fabrication shop can do without any difficulty and it is easily reversed in minutes. If I can find photos of what I did I will post them up.

Sports Car Market magazine is having a poll for their cover car for next month's magazine cover. It is between the recently-sold LP400, a Ferrari 375 race car, and a project Aston.

The poll is at this link below. I would suggest we Lambo enthusiasts log on and vote for the Countach. I am so sick of the endless Ferrari hype and seeing them on the covers of everything, and would love to see the LP400 be on the cover of next month's magazine.

I am voting on every link I stumble on. Seems like the results are BS since I have voted 4 times in the last 20 minutes
