Has anybody tried to close the exhaust flaps constantly to avoid the noise problems when driving on race-tracks? Could this harm the engine due to overheating or to strong back-pressure in higher rpm-regions? On the other side - the 360 Modena has basically the same engine and an even more restricitve exhaust...

While I don't think that this would be a problem on the road, I would proceed with caution on the track. If you think about it, it is just like putting a more restrictive muffler on a car, which I have never heard of that ever hurting an engine. Then again, most engines don't turn 8k + RPM.

I do have a valve controller available that will allow you to have the valves off at all times.

I'm curious about this too. I had to return to the pits during church hours on my last track day because I was too loud. Almost impossible to modulate the throttle to not open the valves on the track.

    The muffler will overheat! Damage?

I'm surprised you would offer this option - have you seen the overheating effect?

In the UK not using race mode often helps with some limits but the car is basically close to the limit anyway
