She will be in one of the Williams cars for Friday, and I'll have to predict she won't be the slowest nor the fastest driver on course. Possibly even top ten given the potential of the car this year!

I think she will do 100% better than 100% of every single person in an F1 car on here thats for sure:)
However I hope she does well among her F1 driver piers.

Do we know who's car she's getting? Just FP1? Or is she doing FP2 also?

My guess is she'll do just fine - Lots of camera action and "added interest" from breathless journos telling us how long it's been since a girl drove in FP - This will naturally link to poor Maria & her accident - "Human interest", blah, blah..... Good coverage for Frank....

She should keep her nose clean, and given how good Isobel says the car is, she'll probably wind up midfield somewhere - A little behind whoever's in the other one for more breathless one liners; "she's only 1 second behind the regular driver, and he's a man!" Blah, blah.....

I wish her well, and if it helps Frank drum up some more $, so much the better.

    Cheers,
    Ian

    She´ll do fine.

Wait, wait: his husband is bringing the engines. And some say that even some confidential information from Mercedes.

    So she´ll do greeat.

She'll do fine. She did a test last year as well and did a lot of laps (also Silverstone if memory serves) and she wasn't last.

Would be funny if she does 1 lap and then it buckets down and she'll end up first. Lol.

Frankly, F1 tests/practice are pretty stress full - unfamiliar car, and trying to get the most data/performance out of it.

    Lots of F1 spins/wrecks in tests/practice.

I don't know enough about the Mrs. Wolff to say anything for sure.

Third option: Who cares? Another way for Williams to indirectly pay for its engine's supply and their shared secret intercooler

Because some of us actually like to see new drivers in the sport, instead of the same set of drivers with championships 10 years ago moving around and the names on the grid staying the same.

Kudos to the teams that put fresh non championship drivers into their machinery, Red Bull picked up Vettel - look how that turned out, now they have Ricci. Mclaren dumped in Hamilton, and now have KM.

Always interesting to me to see a fresh driver behind the wheel of a F1 at a F1 track.

I think she could be very quick(top 5 perhaps) if Williams allow her to drive and not parade around.

    Very well said.

I don't recall any threads asking how will Haryanto or Rossi do in their tests..... ;) a little more interest because she's a girl? Sure, why not?

    Cheers,
    Ian

Toto will secretly have her engine developing an extra 100 hp from higher boost. ;)

Better prediction - She'll be faster than Massa in her practice session. :D

Close! If Wolff's engine hadn't failed after 4 laps, she probably would have been faster than Massa, who threw his car into the wall after 7 laps.

    Woman drives F1 car

Posted in Motorsport, News by Sniff Petrol on Friday, July 4th, 2014

A woman has driven a Formula 1 car today, despite being a woman.

To everyone’s great surprise, her delicate bones were not crushed by the enormous pressures involved and, more remarkably, her tiny mind did not seem confused by the world passing rapidly in front of her pretty little eyes.

Naturally, the car broke down, almost certainly as a result of the woman’s lack of mechanical aptitude, but the woman was at least able to then park the stricken machine without backing it into another car, no doubt to the surprise of the watching menfolk!

To the relief of all concerned, the woman will not be allowed near the expensive and complicated car again for the rest of the weekend and hopefully will return to baking, sewing and thinking about kittens, as she should!

If she'll have a son he will need to be an idiot not to make it into F1. I'm certain she'll not be the last Wollf to drive such cars

Very strong showing from Ms. Wolff today at P1 in Germany. Ran well, and finished within 0.2 seconds of Massa for her best lap.
