As requested, here are just a couple more pictures of the Bianco Avus LaF, one of four in China at the moment according to the rumor mill (the three others are all Rosso Corsa/black). Just for the record, I'm not going to continue being one of the very few actually uploading pictures to this thread (apologies if that's a bit pretentious and all). To those that sit silent: start uploading pictures, subscribe (it's $15 jesus christ) and you can share as many pictures as you like. It's a picture thread for crying out loud, this thread should light up like an artist's moodboard! Current owner acquired at the RM Auction in Monterey in 2006. Sent it back to the factory in Woking for an extensive refit towards the end of that year. It was originally a standard road car in Yellow. >8^) ER
Just my layman's view, but my perception with car finishes is that metallic paint makes the car look personalized, whereas solid colours convey an industrial design (hence kitchen appliance ) look which retains a closer connection to the factory (original design). Solid colours makes the car seem more stock, whereas metallic paint individualizes the car, makes it look more customized, moves it away from the factory look. The industrial design also relies on the appearance of colour on forms and lines, rather than the play of light on the paintwork (metallic sheen). Pearlescent colours tend to stride between the two, enhancing clear form and lines while also adding refinement in the paintwork. One can also argue the factory look conveys the idea of "a machine" whereas personalized look conveys anima, "the beast". It's a personal preference, probably rooted partly in the subconscious. Finally, the original colour combination featured on the first release of the car makes it iconic and so becomes another personal ownership preference option.
Are you talking about Ian Poulter the golfer? I read somewhere that he is getting a LaFerrari. This looks like his collection.
Absolutely not. This is NOT Poulter's. And there are 4 major Ferrari collectors in the greater Orlando area. Marcel Massini
That white LaFerrari is really nice looking! I'd like to see that exact spec but with the black roof. The black wheels look awesome with the white paint. I don't mind the black mirrors either actually.
