We got a trail rated Jeep for use around the yard. Just like Husker says, if you have some mishap and you are not on avement there could be all sorts of legal repurcussions if you aren't doing all you can to be sure your vehicle is made for the kind of work you are doing with it.

I would not consider pulling a boat from my yard with a vehicle that lacks trail rating.

My brother's Excursion barely pulled our boat out of our yard after a hurricane, I guess that is why it is not trail rated.

So that begs the question - if you are driving a trail rated Jeep and still get into an accident on a trail, is Jeep liable? Is there a trail certification needed for each individual driver, and what does this require? There must be more to this.

This isn't "trail rated", but I'd bet it will pull more than any Jeep:

    ;)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

That's a nice truck, but it still isn't trail rated. If you are comfortable with that knowledge, then go ahead, but consider yourself warned!

The idea that a Ford Exhibition could ever even be trail rated is obsurd.

Trails being closed down due to park budgets being cut.

It was raining today, and I saw a lot of vehicles driving really slow, I wonder if this was because they weren't trail rated? Maybe they could of handled conditions better if they had gone through the trouble of making a trail rated vehicle.

Just bought my son a 2005 Jeep that IS trail rated. We looked at a bunch of SUVs at one dealership and I couldn't get it through the dimwitted sales dude that I wanted only trail rated for safety purposes.

We finally left and found a Cherokee and that was the end of it.

You guys hunting an SUV need to watch for sales guys that aren't familiar with the trail rated designation.

Actually this is my first one. Had no use for Trail Rated until I needed the extra safety for kids!

Does the Daylight Savings Time have any effect on the trail rating of SUVs?
    Inquiring minds want to know!

Anyone who has kids and doesn't look into Trail Rated is borderline negligent, IMHO.

Oh wow, I forgot about the Alpacas. I really wonder what the net effect would be if you were an Alpaca farmer and tried using anon trail rated SUV in places that observe DST. Things get complicated fast!

    Go Husker!
