    Mark,

It is true that you don't see too many 308/328 in this color, but nevertheless it is an "old favorite" of the Ferrari catalogue of paints, be it for the first 308 with Glidden Salchi paints or the last 328 with Glasurit paints; it is called "Oro Chiaro" which means "light gold".
Very few cars were indeed ordered with it.

Relatively popular color on the GTs & 2+2s of the 50s/60s/70s ----- but rare on the "sportier" models.....and rarer still on any F-car after about 1975 or so.

I have seen one other, a carbed GTS in the Portland, OR area back in the late 90's --- it also had the brown/saddle interior.

I agree that for a 2V injected car in that color and with those miles....... 32K may be "optimistic". ;)

I don't think $32K is more optimistic than the many for sale at high 50s to low 60s on the actual market. We may have to change our mind in the near future for these cars value. Like they say tide raise all the boats.

It will still be a while until a 2V injected 308 brings real money but if you're patient (and live long enough ;)) it will eventually get there.

Yes I understand that, but is $32K really optimistic? Looking at what the other Ferraris are now selling for this is a very low price in comparison. But maybe I'm also too optimistic ;-)

Like it or not, the color will eliminate a few potential buyers. The term "low miles" is not really right either. Probably more like "normal miles" for a Ferrari.

$32k is a fair asking price. It has the correct speedo giving me some confidence the Kilauea is correct. As these these cars become more popular unique becomes desirable to collectors. Unique usually means ugly colors that few weirdos desired

I am curious to know if that car lived down south back in the early 90's.

There was a 308 2Vi that same color at a track day at Road Atlanta in Mar of 92. I took some video of it on the track and even driving down I-85 when he was leaving. The guy driving was a bit older, looked to be in his mid to late 60's if memory serves.

I meant what I said. A "bit" aggressive. I paid $23k for my yellow 1980 GTSi a couple years ago. It has more miles. It's been a great car (thanks in no small part to excellent maintenance help by two of the posters on this thread), but I doubt it would fetch much more than I paid.

For the gold car with those miles, assuming great condition and records, my guess would be $27k to $30k.

Here's hoping they all double in value over the next five to ten years. But I'm not selling...

Tommy, I think that was Lowell Boggy's car. Use to own part of the property Shelton Ferrari occupied back in the day. He kept a full bar in the cargo space aft of the motor. Neat guy.

I really like it. The color is great on this car. If I had the space I would look into it. But what do I know? I have a white TR and a yellow GTB...

I used to work with an engineer at BNR in Atlanta who had owned a gold 308, could be the same car. I worked with him around 1990-91, and he said he had sold the car a couple years before. Skinny guy with black hair and a mustache, can't remember his name at all.

maybe if the car was red you might have taken notice of name. I really cannot imagine a scenario where "gold" would come to mind while choosing color for my Ferrrari! barf to each their own and all until..........barf!

I dig the color. It's cool. I have a friend here in OKC with an original gold 85' Countach, same shade of gold. It's stunning in person.

I love the color! I emailed the owner of one who was in the Chicago area probably around six months or a year before I got mine. I was still living in Europe at the time and wasnt ready to buy yet or I would have seriously considered it.

Hey Paul, could be just the lighting in those photos.....but, is your car's dash brown ?? Also looks like the piping on the seats is brown as well ?

Is all of that interior OE ?

If that was all speced as OE by the original owner, I would say that person was someone who knew very specifically and exactly what they wanted :)

Not really my taste, but I must say it all (inside and out) looks quite sharp actually :)

    Thanks David,

The brown leather dash was an option at purchase [$840] as was the oro chiaro metalic paint [$830] and the large spoiler [$535]. The brown piping on the seats was listed as N/C. It is all itemized on the Monroney sticker, which came with the car as part of the provenance.

So yes, it is all original, actually restored to original this last year. It does make a nice combination doesn't it. In the 5 years I have owned the car I have never seen another. I've actually never seen another oro chiaro 308 in the flesh. This total package is quite a rare combination, possibly unique.
