    Hahaha.

Yes very fun. I made some tweeter delete and center stereo plugs recently for the Scud. Still have to write it up. And share models.

Nope not CF. I have a makerbot 2 and 2x. PLA and ABS plastic.

    I will keep you posted!

I'd spend so much time messing with one of those that I'd need a goat to take care of my lawn because I'd never take the time to mow it. :)

Looking forward to seeing how you make the delete plate! Take pics!!!

I just ordered the leather delete plate from Ricambi... here are the prices for your reference:

    1. p/n 80403500 – Cover $272.44 (Backorder)

    2. p/n 80759700 – Cover Leather Version $298.85 (Backorder)

    3. p/n 81056700 – Cover Carbon Fiber $1132.85 (Backorder – NO ETA)

So the carbon plate is not $2200 after all... still expensive but at least half the price :)

No errors when you removed the radio? Easy to remove?

No errors. Need the two special tools. Button on the left pops off left control to reveal slot for tool on left. Slot on right is obvious. Once they are in and secure it should pull out. Then disconnect harness.

Hey guys, just a curious question, what's your personal goal for removing the radio? Is it for weight savings?

Thanks for the info, Darth. :)

Freshmeat- For me, primarily, it's weight savings...secondary reason would be that I just like the personality of a stripped down, raw kind of car. Besides, I only listen to the stereo in my daily driver...I'd rather listen to the motor in my "fun" cars. ;-) Or should I say fun "car," had to sell the other cars to pay for the Ferrari!

For me, in theory, yes. I drove the entire way across the country and never used it. I did try to use it a couple times and it was so bad, I just gave up.

I also like the simpler appearance with no headunit and no speaker box. You can put stuff where the speaker box use to be in between heats at the track : )

RBM measured the savings at around 12lbs or so IIRC. Not totally insignificant.

i personally removed it because you cant really hear it anyways and the aftermarket speakers seemed to be draining my battery. removing the radio and door speakers and the sub box saved a good deal of weight plus i could use a smaller battery and get away with it.

When it comes time to sell I will just put it back.

Ah ok ok, I thought maybe you guys were trying some fancy pants stuff like putting gauges or other toggle switches there. That makes sense.

And 12lbs weight savings together with all the other stuff RBM did to his scud adds up to a lot!

Ya, and the OE blank has the OEM 1x1 weave vs the 2x2 twill.

You guys got me thinking...only music i listen to comes out the back anyways.

But what about those Barney dvds for long drives? I'm gonna need my retractable screen with dvd and sat nav capabilities!

Hmm first of all I never did try to turn the radio on... was listening to the engine music all the time :) and I really like the look of the delete panel installed rather than the radio.. (gives me the race car feel) lol! Saw a couple of Japanese Scuderia books and brochures with the delete panel on too, thats why it gave me an idea to do it. :)
