Not behind anymore! The Countach has pulled a sizeable lead over the f car.

I dont think it is that cool. If you cant rely on anything official as simple as the number of cars built,it's pretty lame. If that is true, then why not have the mystery of the ghost of the 7 last unofficial lp400 resurected? how about the lp400S1 50? are we sure? What about that last countach build in the late 90s from spare parts? If no traces of them, did the factory really made themor someone else? Is there a lambo accounting black book? These rumors are nuts or sobering if true.

I can understand that black wire is used as red and vice versa or that wheels of a series get mounted on a later series. This is Italy in the 70s.but under Chrysler, we have 5 mystery cars unaccounted for? What can we rely on for anything if it is true ?

We know 12085 is claimed by the works as the last PRODUCTION Countach.

But anyone who has studied Italian car factories of the era knows there are production cars, then there are often a few post-production cars, for whatever reason...

Steve, thank you for your patronage, it was a swift & smooth experience for all parties from start-to-finish, and I am grateful for the opportunity. You definitely caught a wave, because we are working on our ninth (9th) Countach in just over 60 days! Clearly the Countach is the car-of-the-moment.

There is one at Auction Sept 8 in Europe. The estimate is higher than 400 K U.S. Where is your car?

Lots of CT's changing hands it seems right now, or owners wanting to pass them off. Interesting and active market for buyers and sellers.

If you paid say 100k for your any, you would be nuts not to sell it for 400k.

yes and no. I believe interest rates will stay low for much longer than people expect, and hard assets will continue to go higher as the world is flooded with a lot of cash and nowhere to put it - ie, cars, real estate - so as surprised as I am to see 400k I wldnt be surprised to see 600 and 800k etc. for me I own the cars because I love them. the fact they they are worth more today than what I paid is a bonus and I have other investments/assets that I hold with the idea of price appreciation.

that being said, buying a countach in 2011 for 100k and selling it for 400k in 2014 is a dam good trade, to ur point

  25. Trading wise, it is downright brilliant. On this example a 300k gain. But wait, there is more. You now owe the IRS, and at a different capital gain rate than real estate if I read this correct. 28%. Plus your state & local tax. Still not bad at all. Until you decide you still want a Countach.... Then you have to ship and pay new taxes, after finding the car that you beat everyone else out of on the planet.
