Go jacks are great, but a little cumbersome to move and store....then again I guess all the dollies are. My only complaint is they're too wide. If you're working in a cramped space the legs tend to grab stuff or bump into things.

Years ago I bought a set of M&W Rollmate dollies, which are basically a flat rectangular tray with 4 casters and a low center of gravity. Much better made than the harbor freight imitations and about 1/3 the price of Go Jacks.

I can't find them for sale at the moment, but they're a great tool if you don't mind jacking up the car to put the dollies underneath.

Avoid anything with steel wheels, or skates that don't have any rail to hold the tire in place. The car can slide right off the skate if it stops suddenly.

Follow up - the company is actually called NMW and the dollies were "Roll Master". Unfortunately it looks like they're out of business, but another company has copied the design and is calling it the "Roll Glide"

If you can find a set of used Roll Masters, I'm sure you'll like them. They pop up every now and then for sale.

Thanks everyone. Also considering the Harbor Freight mechanical wheel dolly...

Don't buy the manual ones- can't find a pic at the moment. Completely useless. Casters won't move once the weight is on them. These self loading ones look like they have a better chance.

The Snap-On dollies that look exactly like the GoJacks work fine.
