off hand i can tell you about the route to Betong, Thailand for amazing food via Kuala Kangsar, Sauk (for amazing fish), Gerik, Felda Nenering.....stay at the resorts by the Chenderoh Dam.....it's fairly a very common route.....but if one hasn't done it, would recommend it

Thanks guys. On the east side, I've only done Kuantan & Cukai couple of times but nothing much along there. Traffic is also quite heavy so can't really have a nice drive. In fact, the mobile squad was having their training there so guess the school isn't far :p

Only walked around Kota Baru once cos we visited Redang but that was via flight as drive is simply too far away :(

Pillai, your Sauk brought me to Albania! haha.

Ok, off Ipoh which looks promising so we'll do it one of these days Thanks!

I've visited a waterfall near Ipoh when I was 16 so could be somewhere here.

Give it a shot then. The roads are twisty, not dangerous as they give you extensions to overtake slower vehicles safely. But, the surroundings are beautiful, and lots of great food at the sides, like huts, and all kampung style. I will never forget the honey fried chicken!

I drove back in 2006, from KL to Kelantan. Left about 5 am and reached about 1 pm. Fantastic drive, too bad it wasn't a manual.

The food in Kelantan is cheap, the people there live in peace and very very friendly.

    Hmm honey chicken sounds tasty!

There was once some years back when I took my Murcielago to Kuantan, driving in the kampong roads & the kids would chase after me!

I really like to drive in B roads as we get to see the local architecture & smell the rustic country side air. Oh boy I miss those trips as these days many places are developed, houses are rebuilt & traffic is bad.

Tell me about it. I drove to Johor once using coastal road. Pretty scary if early morning or late night. Thick mist.

Hi everyone, Im KW from Selangor. Was wondering if anyone has any Ferrari Porsche mechanic to recommend. I have been sending to Naza but am looking for alternatives to their exorbitant pricing. Preferably around the PJ area or Sunway would be great. Their contact numbers and addresses would b most appreciated.

Just looking at regular servicing and the odd timing belt change.

    I have a 996 C4S and a F355.

Thanks all for the input. KW.

NI is cheap for parts and probably overcharge you for labor, whereas the independant workshops are cheap for labor but overcharge you for parts.

    Hi

Does anyone here know any UPS (united parcels) guys in KL that I can talk with to resolve my parcel held up in the UK? Been 2 weeks now. Their customer services are terribly bad, and they just couldn't be bothered to notify you of the status. If it's for a carton of Maggie Mee, I would let it rot there but it's an ECU that I sent for rebuild :)

I need to talk with a senior person for their nightmarish logistics solution with expensive charges and your sleepless nights. Appreciate your help if you know someone. Thanks

I heard many F and Alfa owners are using Ultra Tune, but then again, I heard from my Porsche mech that many of their skillful mechanics had ventured out on their own now, so quality of work may be jeaopardized. Check'em out first.

For Porsche, I am with Ah Fatt. He is a one-man operates, so quality of work is good. But you need to give him enuf time. His workshop's in Ara Damansara. Your F355 needs an engine-out for the belt change so it requires $$$ for labor charges. Better make a price comparison before you decide. Ah Fatt can do it too, but he lacks of diagnostic tools for Ferrari. For Porsche, he has it all.

D, Ah Fatt can manage the weld, paint for you if you let him have your car. Talk with him if you think he's reasonable with charges. As far as I know, he will fabricate things if can to save a lot of $$$ on parts. F car parts are bloody expensive.

My car's with Naza now, had a faulty motronic ECU and it took them a long time to pinpoint to its fault. Ferraris of the 90s are famous for its dreaded slowdown and check engine lights. If you want I can PM you his number.

    Regards

Oh dear sorry to hear of this. Shouldn't they just deliver a parcel straight to recipient or there's VAT involved? I use FedEx & DHL but seldom UPS so can't help you there but as long as the parcel is around then should be able to resolve.

Yes. The advantages with bigger workshops & especially agents are, if there's any disastrous problems such as accidents or total lost, they have the responsibilities and also warranty claims on repairs but good luck with indy workshops. So it's always a double edged sword. I don't have the time to keep tap on my cars so they're usually left there for months so a reputable workshop is priority.

At the end of the day, best to have good relationships with these people & they'll usually fix minor issues for free :)

I use EM @ Kota Damasnsara. There's this racing outfit called Aylezo motorsports. Owner Zen races in Lotus & Lambo SuperTrofeo series. I saw several serious racing metals there from GT series. They also have R34, Audis, Porsches & even a Phantom! Looks like a pro workshop but never used them yet. Google for them. Somewhere in Sunway.

You've just got back from raya vacation? :) Ok, they have finally delivered the ECU. But I must say the UPS KL is horrible with their service. It looks to me that some ignorant ppl are working in there. Thanks for your advise.

    Cheers
