aside from the crash he didnt do overly bad

both hamilton and vettel made short work of vergne but nico....

Vettel is a "good" driver who happened to have a dominating car and somewhat weaker teammate for 4 years.
Life is all about timing you know....

 

Well, at least he has the luck of the champions: today he missed that wall by milimeters.

Ricciardo really is showing signs of being an incredible future talent! I'm very impressed by him and hope he goes on to win many more, and hopefully a championship!

 

Vettel definitely does not suck, it was one of those situations today. He will be back.

 

Hopefully at Ferrari next year.

 

4x WDC champion. That is all.

None of these guys suck.

Some are better than others. Some are overrated. Some don't belong in F1.

We should all suck so much.

 

+a million. He's not upper echelon material which I now view Ricciardo as being a part of. Vettel is technically in his prime, he should be able to drive anything, period. Not the case though.

 

Horses for courses.
Adaptability is just one aspect of a driver. Without it I don't think that a driver can be considered one of the Greats but it's not enough to write him off either.

Not every championship winning driver belongs in the Pantheon.

There are some actual drivers on the site, so I think that keeps it from "all".

This is my first post in one of these "______ suck" threads. I'm not yet willing to concede Vettel is only a 'good' driver. This year could be an anomaly. What happens if he comes back and throttles Ricciardo next season? What if he does it after the break?

What if Daniel is just the second coming?

Well, that's why we keep tuning in.

 

Well, lets take Ricciardo's performance in context to both Seb & Webber.

If the assumption is that Webber was the weaker teammate, then you're pretty much saying Ricciardo is better than Webber.

If you're saying Ricciardo is better than Webber, then you're saying Ricciardo is better than Seb.

If you're saying Ricciardo is better than Seb, then had Ricciardo been in the RB the last 4 years, he would be 4-time world champion.

If you're not saying any of the above, then you're saying that Seb lucked out like both Nico + Hamilton this season then the WDC should rightfully go to Newey for the last 4 seasons...

 

Going further with this...

Webber beat Rosberg as teammates.

Rosberg is equal to Hamilton.

Either Rosberg, Hamilton and Webber suck, or Ricciardo is God.

The logic is impeccable!

Which implies that anyone could have won in the Neweymobile. But Webber couldn't. People claim Ham could have won in vettels car 4 years in a row yet he is not winning in an even more dominante car at the moment...

Exactly. The notion that vettel sucks at this point in his career is ludicrous. Ricardo is doing a great job but so is vettel. This just further proves that any driver can do well or poorly depending on the feel of the car.
