My brothers foreign exhange student nearly fell over when he saw a Ferrari in the drive one day so I had to take him for a spin. These are the short videos he took.

He had texted it to his father in France before we got back to the house. He had a great time. In each case I never accelerated past 80 in deference to his host family. When he first saw the car he was unwilling to touch it. It took me about 15 minutes and my nephew bouncing all over the car to get him to be willing to sit in the drivers seat. The level of respect for the auto was refreshing. I kept having to tell him, look, the leather is worn, climb in. Not sure he'd ever seen a Ferrari in person. :D It really was an honor to take him for a spin. And the appreciative emails I got after the fact were really heart warming.

He may end up being a future owner. He is studying to be an engineer and he has done two three week visits to the US primarily to work on his language. A great kid at 16. I hope he makes another trip our way.

From his accent, France was my guess! That's great that you got the chance to meet him and gave him the ride. I know it will forever instill in him the cool experience and the goal of one day owning a Ferrari!

    Cheers,
    Mike

I was surprised that an iphone in a car with top down got the sound as good as it did. A tribute to the phone and design of the car.

No. It is still leaking onto exhaust manifold and smoking out engine bay. But I couldn't resist taking the car crazy exhange student for a ride. He didn't mind the smoke at all :D

I've recently gotten divorced, house is in escrow and I'm doing up the bachelor thing. I've moved into an ex muffler shop that has a studio apartment upstairs. The whole place is mine and I'm modifying it for my own purposes. It will be getting a new roof in the next two months and the shop area is a pit that I will frame up leaving a small basement for beer and wine :D and pour a slab at grade and put in a couple lifts. Basically that is what is on my to do list before the Ferrari gets to the top of the list. I'm hoping over the winter that I'll get to the car. But I am also on a list with a shop to get a service done. It will depend on whether or not I have any money left over which way it gets fixed.
