After Reading the overview at Rick Cole home side, and with the last auktion prices form Paris
and Other sales in the 300 Euro area,i am sure that this Car vill be a 500+ USD Car

1974 Ferrari 365BB | Rick Cole Auctions

OVERVIEW

Ferraris radical all-new 365 GT4 BB Berlinetta Boxer first appeared on the world stage at the Turin Auto show in 1971 as the mid-engine replacement for its very successful 365 GTB/4 Daytona. As Ferraris flagship 12-cylinder, the 365 GT4 BB Berlinetta Boxer was to go heads-up against the Lamborghini Miura and the just-introduced Lamborghini Countach and Maserati Bora supercars. The 365 GT4 BB was all-new from the ground up; the low, wide, sleek yet uncluttered Pininfarina-designed Berlinetta body was built by Scaglietti and was Ferraris last hand-built production car. Its 380bhp horizontally-opposed or Flat-12 boxer 12-cylinder engine was mounted amidships and out-performed not only its competition but also its predecessor, the legendary Ferrari Daytona. Its exotic mid-engine DOHC Flat-12 layout kept the Daytonas bore, stroke, and compression ratio and was to established Ferraris Flagship Flat-12 engine development program for the next 20 years. The 365 GT4 BB was the worlds first road-going flat-12 engine and also the first in any high-performance sports car with camshafts driven by cam belts rather than by chains, making it quieter, easier to build and easier to service. As Sergio Pininfarina was quoted, for years I had to fight with a high engine and a large radiator because the engines height automatically (dictated) the radiators height. The boxer engine was lower, making everything easier. The 365 GT4 BB also featured its now-trademark six rear lights and six exhaust pipes in a stylistic game of stylistic one-upmanship the Italians play well. The new low-slung model was designated the 365 GT4 BB, for Berlinetta Boxer and its performance was blistering then and is still today among the fastest cars in the world.

In 1974 Mel Nicols of CAR magazine recorded 0-60 in 5.3 seconds, with 100 coming up in an incredible 11.3 seconds and a staggering top speed of 180mph. In 1975 Road & Track magazine proclaimed the 365 GT4 BB as the fastest road car weve ever tested at 175 mph. It was a bona fide supercar and an enduring stylistic icon. Production of the 365 GT4 BB began in late 1973 as a 74 model just as the first Arab oil embargo of Oct., 1973 tripled gasoline costs, killing the supercar market. Only 365 GT4 BB 387 were built before they were superseded by the carbed 512 in 1976. None were officially imported to the US and so with only a few dozen 365 GT4 BBs in the US they are a rare sight at any event.

According to information complied by Ferrari Historian Mike Sheehan, Ferrari 365 GT4 Berlinetta Boxer s/n 18265 was the 255th 365 BB built and was completed on 20 Dec., 1974, finished in Blu Dino 106-A-72 (Medium blue metallic) with Pelle Beige VM 3234 (light tan leather). It was fitted with the 11/43 (3:90) rear gears, the lowest of four rear-gear options, for quick acceleration. It was sold new to New Trade CO., NCT N, an import/export company in Italy which got a total of three different 365 BBs, s/n 18265, s/n 18549 and s/n 18757. NTC delivered the car to its first owner, Joseph A Gurreri, Yorktown Heights, NY. Mr. Gurreri imported s/n 18265 into the US using the once in a lifetime EPA and DOT exemption and so s/n 18265 has never suffered through the indignities of an EPA and DOT conversion. Mr. Gurreri started a restoration in 2002 but like so many projects it was never completed. Mr. Gurreri was to keep s/n 18265 from 1975 to 2005, so thirty long years before he sold the unfinished restoration project to its second owner, attorney Alex Leventhal. Alex had the bare-metal repaint over an undamaged body done by Autosport Design of New York and the brakes and suspension restoration by SportAuto. In 2010 365 GT4 BB s/n 18265 was sold to its third owner and what is now a Platinum level restoration was finally completed with the interior done by Westminster Auto Upholstery and the engine, gearbox and detailing by F.A.I.

The 365 GT4 BB s/n 18265 has only 28,354 original miles, still has its unique six tail lights and six exhaust pipes and comes with its original parts book, owners handbook, cloth carrying pouch, briefcase tool kit, Dinoplex ignition, jack kit, correct thin spare wheel and tire and the Ferrari Heritage Certificate. It comes with a substantial binder showing the maintenance and restoration records going back to the 1980s and several discs with hundreds of in-process photos. Because of its 1974 build date and 1974 title 365 GT4 BB is exempt from Californias onerous smog laws and is the last Ferrari to be eligible for many of the popular vintage rallies, open to significant sports, racing or GT cars 1974 or prior. Its modern performance coupled with visceral vintage feel and robust nature makes it a perfect mount for these wonderful events. 365 GT4 BB s/n 18265 looks, runs and drives absolutely as new. As the first and the rarest model of the production Fiat-Era Ferraris, 365 GT4 BB s/n 18265 remains the definitive Berlinetta Boxer, despite-or perhaps because of-its raw and uncompromising feel.

Because preserving history and documentation is important to us, the original books, tools, and a substantial binder and photo album showing the maintenance and restoration records going back to the 1980′s plus several discs with hundreds of in-process photos will all be available for inspection at the auction.

this is a great example...it may fetch $500k. I think the price projection provided by the auction house could actually hinder the bid if anything.

i'm pretty sure this was at Cavallino. It was stunning in person. The color was perfect. It looked just plain awesome.

I took this pic at Cavallino, but not sure if it's the same one. Looks to be. Car was up on the side of the fairway by itself and looked amazing. Good luck to the seller.

I have found that Internet photos rarely translate blue accurately, for some reason. I'm sure camera, lighting, etc have a lot to do with it.
This car is just gorgeous. Normally I prefer the orange front lenses, but clear ones go perfectly with this blue. Glad the owner switched it to Boxer trim, too.

My camera=Iphone. I took probably close to 50 pictures in about 15 minutes. The cars did all the work.

Is that Alex Leventhal's project???

We used the carpet from #22641 for him to match...

It's the older blue, Azzuro Metallic....it was common on Dinos, but not the brighter Dino Blue you are thinking of...

I saw this car in person yesterday, was told the engine was rebuilt, and it was on a stand ready to be installed. I was a bit surprised it was not more "ready" considering that car is going to be on a transport to Pebble in short order.

Color is stunning. Whoever did the paint job should be proud, a very nice job.

I talked to Alex some time ago and it was my bad fortune not to know he was selling the car. Chances are if I knew then, it would be in my garage now.

When I saw it yesterday, I looked at the serial number and it looked familiar. Now I know why.
