Anyone experience this? My windscreen and front head light has numerous little chip marks. I find it strange that my car has numerous little chips on the screen yet the paint work is still in good nick. I had the paint checked and confirmed they are factory.... I only had the car for 6 months and in normal driving I couldn't work out how it would get these chips. Could it be the last owner been driving it extremely fast to get that kind of impact? >150km/hrs? Any thoughts ?
Joe, only little almost like sand blasted. I'll try to get some pictures in the morning. I know they're deep enough that you can feel them when you ran you finger nails thru.
I've experienced this too, it's like the glass is so soft that dust can cause a little pit mark. Terrible windscreens. John.
I have the same issue on my Scuderia windscreen but I don't care that much...it's a car. My insurance fully covers and replaces damaged winscreens.
If you do not mind a DIY, Zaino makes a great glass polish and a plastic polish. (mail order only) You can clear windshields. Just like polishing your paint with your Porter Cable DA. Steve
Yep. Common. On my new italia I had a clear bra like product (can't remember the name) put on for $400 -- it's totally clear and can't see it but protects against big and little chips very well. Installer actually showed me and the dealer a demo where he shot a window sample with a BB gun and no crack and the other half without it gave it a perfect "star" that occurs with rocks. Dealer even said he was amazed and was going to start rec to clients.
I can't see any on mine ? What I do have is a wave in the glass just above head height on the left side of the windscreen It's a genuine screen too Anyone else?
