I heard that you can swap out the stock tcu for a CS tcu and get much better initial clutch grab. I saw a poet from eric355 about it but was hoping someone has more information.

I just had a CS TCU installed in my 2001 F360 after having (new) clutch overheating and slipping problems. I suspect the previous owner had this problem as the clutch needed replacement after 6000 miles. My original TCU didn't allow for PIS adjustment which was part of the slipping problem. The difference is amazing with the CS TCU. No more overheating (PIS is now adjustable) and the shifting is so much faster and crisper. It's a whole different car and experience now and worth the upgrade.

Not sure about better initial clutch grab. That's controlled with your right foot.
    Still a great upgrade though.

Eric355 takes existing TCUs (the ones that have the later CPU) and flashes the CS firmware. Mine was out of a Maserati -- works fine. If you have a later one (PM him with the part number) he may be able to take yours and flash it -- could be less expensive than him purchasing a used one).

Alan- I bought a Maserati TCU for Eric on E-Bay. May have been the one that went into your 360. Small world.

Eric- Maybe a couple. Well worth the effort because it helped another owner or three.
