Saw the info on another forum I'm on regarding the street tires, and here's a vid of the drag radial pass:

How many are they making? I am sure dealers will be asking $20k over sticker when they first hit the lots. BTW... I don't mind dealers doing this, its just that they often don't know how to do it and piss off a lot of people with their mentality about having a 'rare' car. To their defense, they don't often get nice cars, especially at a Dodge dealership. At the same time, it is okay to ask, but don't treat people like you are something special because you have a limited edition car in your showroom.

I have known guys who could buy a car like that and would pay over sticker who walked out and went elsewhere just because of the dickish attitude. My buddy walked out of two dealers who were trying to play the game with GT500s a few years ago and bought a car at the third that day. I could never get him to go do smokey burnouts in front of the other dealers that treated him poorly but it would have been appropriate.

seems awesome. Was always a challenger fan, but the z28 pulled. Then on rethink a z28 is Ok on the track today but he next pony cars will outclass it and its not really for the street.

Whereas the Challenger once its gone we will not see its likes again. A fusion of the quintiseential big two door personal coupe and a muscle car, with the type of motor they wont build for too much longer. A great car for the street and a keeper for posterity.

Would love a z28 and achallenger, but if it has to be one or the other the challenger hellcat is it.

What credentials do you two critics possess in regards to making assumptions as to various people's knowledge of high HP engines.
I guarantee neither of you could properly degree a camshaft to save your lives or set the backlash on a solid lifter engine.
The closest either of you to get to a set of wrenches is walking past them in Sears.

Google has taught you well, young one. You have mastered the big words.
Thank you for the PM. However, don't expect that I bother with a reply.
    Enjoy your trip to Sears.

I have been quoted two prices on this car, one dealership was $70k and the other dealership was $60K.

I am not sure when they will become available. Those performance numbers someone posted are amazing, actually stunning.

All I know is I want one!

Guy I will call you and we can go together when get the call the dealer has one. they said they would call me when it shows up.

    Best

John that is very impressive. Fiat has done well for them. I just bought a 2013 Viper and I love the car, the power is pure USA muscle and the handling real sports car thanks to Fiat.

I had a 2009 Viper which I liked but the 2013 is a much better car. My hope is the new Wildcat will have much improved handling as well.

Lee,can't speak to the handling, but the Chrysler guys are very upbeat about this car. They know it's a very limited market, but they believe it will generate a great deal of positive press for them.
They are fortunate they have Ralph Gilles as their VP Design. Ralph is a true car guy through and through. He's making things happen from a performance point of view.

Man, if they make it handle well, that'd be a trick. I recall reading somewhere online that weight will be ~4450 lbs; not exactly helped by the engine's iron block. Even if they do get it to handle well, it'll just eat tires and brakes. Sounds like a blast for the money though. True muscle car.

I look at it as street car. The power and accekeration are stupendous. As for the rest, I am sure there are better cars on track, the challenger is big and heavyafter all. But, that does not mean it handles porrly like msucle of old, from what I have read the challenegr is a stable competant handler. Having driven a number of the current 14 challengers I can say tha even those track and well brake well and corner very nicely, at least on street.

This is a street car not a track car, and its going to go as fast on street as anything else.

Now the z28 is better on track but supposedly not too comfortable on street. In a year or two the current z28 will be outclassed by newer muscle cars on track, in which case you will have an uncomfortable street car.

It does not seem that any manufacturer is planning another 2 door streetbuiser as large and comfortable as the current challenger. My gues is that when it goes out of production in a few years it will be the last of a breed, therfore the hellcat is one hell of car, and will be collectable 30 years on.

I was skeptical when the rumors were first released and wasn't excited about the car. Still iffy about the weight but at this point I think I want one. It would be a great daily driver.
The only car I'd be even more excited about would be a Grand Cherokee Hellcat.
