Finished! Vinyl Wrap Black Brushed Aluminum

I made a thread earlier last week about wrapping my F430. I brought one of my installers from Florida to do it and took time lapse photos (7000+) which I still need to edit. Still busy doing other cars. This was not an easy task due to this particular vinyl which has texture/lines that have to match up perfectly or it'd look distorted. We do still have some areas that we have to touch up on but will get to it.

This is 3M Brushed Black Aluminum. I did the front intakes with Carbon vice having that grey which looked horrendous after wrapping it. I've had this on one of my previous cars (AMG) and gotta say that it looks better on this car due to the lines, etc.

I like it but I think it would have looked even better in brushed aluminum blue.....

 

Seriously thought about it but wasn't sure how it would look with the red. Some colors are awesome like the brushed blue but don't look good on certain vehicles. I see the brushed blue on something like a new avalanche, truck, etc. Currently wrapping my wife's caddy in brushed steel.

Do you have to remove all parts such as headlights, door handles, marker lights etc.?

Wow that looks really nice.

Is doing a wrap like this a completely reversible application - meaning does it cause any wear, damage or even a blemish of the underlying OEM paint? Does it just peel off or is there a special process (or chemicals) needed, to remove it?

Same question as Alan, too - what is the preparation to the car needed for this?

 

The way light reflects off it, it almost makes it look like the car was cropped in from a photo with different lighting.

Interesting for sure... I bet I'd like it more in person.

 

I know, if you do not have anything nice to say........but since you asked.
I do not get spending cash to add black out wheels and flat or brushed metalic wraps.
I might be old but I like my sports cars and wheels to shine!
If you like it thats all that matters.

 

For my car, the only thing that I removed were the rear lights in order to access and tuck in the vinyl. People do remove badges, headlights, etc. sometimes to make it easier and cleaner. Fortunately my installer is 3M certified and has 20 years experience.

Asanti's.. previous owner bought them. I like them for certain situations but looking for replacements like HRE's.

Completely reversible! As a matter of fact it's one of the main reasons I wrapped it. My location is prone to rocks, etc. It completely protects the paint. The only process that you may need to do is using a heat gun while peeling it off, especially if it's cold outside. I always prep our cars with a wash and having it clayed which removes wax and inpurities. EVERY piece of dirt will show.

Exactly!! How you see it in the pictures is how it is in person. Looks almost like a matte black at night but when any type of light hits it, it shimmers. Amazing when driving by street lights at night.

No offense taken! I completely understand that everyone has their own unique taste. I appreciate all feedback. I use this not only to protect my car but also market my company (wraps, signs, etc.). Just showing people that there are options out there. Plus I like being a little different.
