Original owners of CS

In 3years the 458,which is an astonishing CAR anyway, will worth less than your CS...here CS are now at 125/130 meanwhile 458 are dropping fast and already below 150...always remember that more F40 have been built than your CS

 

CS will be a future classic, not a doubt in my mind. If you don't mid sharing, what spec did you go with and how many miles have you had a chance to put on her?

i am not the original owner, but the car was specced exactly as i would have done - rosso corsa, with stripe, alcantara red and black.

after many tortured months of debating the purchase of a 360 challenge that was street legal i decided to go for a cs. i wanted one, i found one, i bought it on the spot.

unbelievable car. does not matter that the scud and the 458 and the speziale are faster - they do not have the panache of the cs (altho i would very much like a speziale some day).

 

is it speZiale in europe? I figure it's speCiale everywhere (maybe except in China or Japan - where it's some calligraphy sounding like Speciale)

 

I don't think a cs will ever reach f40 levels. Remember it is an iteration of a very mass produced car (360). Just like I doubt the collectibility of say a murcileago sv

They will hold their value well yes but future classic im not so sure. The mass produced model tarnishes it a bit

 

You mean kind of like the Daytona? They have barely managed to hold their (mass produced) value, haven't they?

Try not to doubt the CS. It is barely 10 years old and has a huge cult following. That spells collector.

Back to the original premise of this thread. Well done OP! I have had allot of Ferraris over the years, the CS is special enough that it won't be going anywhere but my garage.

I think you may have missed my point. I wasn't trying to say that 1k = mass produced. I was meaning that 17k modenas were produced and because the cs is an evolution of the 360 it is more questionable. Then again that hasn't stopped some 911s from becoming worth a relatively high amount. the cs does have a cult following I agree with you.

 

the cs shares the general profile of the 360, and that is its downside, unless you like the shape like i do.
but that is virtually the only thing it shares with the rest of the 17k 360's.

 

I'm the second owner of mine. I've had it about 8 years. Back in 2004 the guys that bought them sight unseen. After a few months many decided to sell them because they were not plush enough or their wives and GF would not get in a car that was so load and rough that even if it had a radio they could not hear it.

I had an F40 and regret it going away. The CS delivers a very similar experience.

When I was considering a 360 or a Gallardo, I drove both and the Gallardo was a much better car. I happened to stumble on a CS and drove it, and instantly threw the other two out the window and had to have a CS.

The CS may have a similar profile, but it is an entirely different (and exciting) car.

I bought mine in 2010. I have no intention of ever selling it. If I could have afforded one in 2004 I'd have bought one.

No first owner like yourself ever knew they'd become what they have become.

 

I believe member "720" here has two CSs he has owned since new - a yellow and a red.

No need to convince me of the allure of the cs. I am completely in agreement with you there. Just not sure if that will mean it will rise in value. Hopefully it will, but after I buy one
