An unraced 360NGT would indeed be a fine Track Day car. I would have to go with the 355C though, as it COULD be driven to and from the track.
It never got that modification, John. It does have the heat shield.... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey Bubba!! You got to see that car before me! I'm sure you stopped by here... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I understand nothing, BUT, well done: F355 vs 348 vs 360 ( Challenge Cars ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQFMQS-FdoE
They finished in the expected order. In reference to your poll, I couldn't vote for one particular model. The Challenge cars are all limited-production cars which are declining in number. I saw a beautiful 360 Challenge totaled at Lime Rock a couple of weeks ago. It's a parts car now. Perhaps in the future they will all become collectible with value based on either racing history or preservation. My F355 Challenge was raced for about eight years. Now it enjoys about twelve HPDE track days per year. I'm doing my best to ensure that my car stays in top form. My life depends on that while I'm on the track. I've had my front shock mounts modified, replaced my oil lines and coolant hoses during a recent major service, had my shocks rebuilt by Delta Vee and a subsequent alignment to Challenge specs, rebuilt my heat shields, etc. during the two years I've owned my car. I'm looking forward to three days at Watkins Glen later this month.
nice Sound on the track... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qVh91HCeqk]Ferrari 355 Challenge - TRACK !! - YouTube[/ame]
Which Ferrari Challenge will be the most collectible? Looking at current values of Ferrari's the trend is low production cars which command the highest values. I would say the 348's and 355 Challenge cars will in time start to appreciate. The problem is these cars are street cars from the factory with a challenge kit. They did have Vin#'s designated as Challenge cars from the factory. The modern 360,430 and 458's will be less remembered. The best bet, in my opinion are the Ferrari race cars with history. They will appreciate the most over time.
When I had my 348CH teched by the guys from FoCF/FoT before running it at Sebring last Saturday, one of them commented, "Gee, a 348 Challenge- you don't see any of those anymore." My guess is that a high percentage of 348/355 Challenge cars have been written off in crashes over the years.
@E60 M5, Great that you like it. What is for you the Most collectible Challenge Ferrari? You own One?
the later batch of uk rhd 355 challenge cars (99 spec) werent road cars .. they came as factory race cars .. you just had to bolt on thing like the wing and seats ...
I voted F355 Challenge.....not at all because I have one *LOL* Besides, the F355 Challenge had a fricken video game made after it. How cool is that?
I agree. The car was red and I assume a nice looking spyder before this "project" was undertaken. The shop doing the work has a flair for ungodly colorful wraps.
Ferrari 360GT Michelleto #33, had more than a few lap ride in that car with Allie Ashe from FOW, prior owner. What a beast of a car!! How about the F50GT???!!!!
