Ok, it's a bit on the wild and crazy side, but has tremendous meaning to me and it's all about having fun.....right?
This is my first post. Wanted to show the great job Ferrari of Houston did on restoring the 1995 Challenge car I purchased. They rebuilt the top part of the motor, restored the interior including recovering in alcantara, installed an original challenge cage, removed the stickers. Still waiting on carbon fiber door covers and then it should be ready to go! Great, please show us more pictures.from where did you get the Cage? Tell us more about the history of the Car please.
Ferrari of Houston obtained the cage and all parts for restoration. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
A few more. Last one is the interior when I first saw the car. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very cool. I have an original challenge cage for my 348 Challenge but I am only going install the hoop part and the racing seats with harnesses. I am not sure what I will do with all the extra cage pieces but I suppose I should refinish them all at the same time and store them properly.
Great car, and I hope you enjoy it, but I'd hardly call this a "restoration", as many details depart from original Challenge car spec. Virtually none of the interior, for example, is as-supplied when new.
Ira is right but these are very minor changes to bring to stock if you desire later. Good to see you doing it. My advice is leave the car mechanically stock. CCR has led the charge for the preservation of vintage challenge cars, with many OME sponsors and suppliers, such as OMP and Pirelli back supporting the series. (CCR members have special rates on OME parts). As the series has been building a following over the years we have seen the values of cars being preserved and even increasing. I think this trend will continue. My advice to anyone with a car is that if you car about the value, keep it stock. (As I said the interior bits are easy to fix). Bring it out to the CCR events for the FORZA Tifosi Challenge. We have both race and touring groups. For the 355 we have special tire race sponsorship that pays for half of your tire costs. As for you IRA, your 348 can race for free
Interesting, Sorry for asking, what is CCR? Is there a Serie to Show, race the original challenge Cars?
