Consider the cost for rust removal and restoration (perhaps new paint and interior and obvious mechanical restoration).

Add price of a restoration to the cost of the donor car.

I would not feel comfortable paying over $800-900k especially for a engine rebuild AND if the car has rust.

So much is condition dependent even knowing it needs a motor rebuild.

    Perhaps this would be helpful:

    1969 Lamborghini Miura P400S | Monaco 2014 | RM AUCTIONS

'69 S chassis 4155 sold just a few months ago for +/- $1.1M. Results yet to be posted on the 69 S at Monterey. Maybe someone who was there knows.

I would be very surprised to hear of anyone willing to spend $1M in the current market on a car with needs like a rebuid or more. It might be unproductive to speculate on market direction as it could turn on a dime. In a year that might be thought a bargain, or the height of a bubble.

PM me and we can discuss further if you prefer.

edit: I just saw your post from a minute ago. New pan? No, this is not even close to a $1M car.

Roll it into a corner and you'll get $1m for it in a little while.

Even if he could, would the seller's expectation then be $2M?

There is a lot of money around the world looking for a home. With zero interest rate policies, gold hovering between $1275 and $1325, no inflation and the fact that the currency you are in now may depreciate against the dollar. Don't be surprised at the prices paid.

The RM car sold for $1,265,000. Therefore the seller is right to ask for a cool $1MM. Restored at $1.3-1.4MM all in you have a great car. There are not many choices today in the Miura market. Go find one! $100k up or down should not make a difference.
