Yes, an adjustment you cannot make when the units are affixed directly to the doors.

If I recall the Vitaloni Sebring [yes just one] on my P300 did not have an adjustable lens and the whole mirror had to be moved on the mount. Is this perhaps the same with this mirror?

My 1976 Silhouette retains its original Vitaloni California mirrors complete with stickers.

Just saw the latest episode of "Car Crazy". Japanese collector of supercars had a Miura Jota and a white Countach with all gold plating that he says was done by the factory. I think he said it was one of 2 done this way.

I hope that the new owner enjoys it as much as I have. It has been a great car to me.

Joe who did the restoration on the green car the factory? How long ago, it looks fresh?

We're you at Concorso? Did you see the Tahiti blue 400S ser 1 with large gages and telephone wheels that's for sale? The car was just completed.

    Geno

Geno, it was done in Italy by the same ex-Lamborghini workers who built the car new in 1981. These individuals have long-since retired from Lamborghini, and have set up specialist shops in the same area of Italy.

I was not at Concorso as I was stuck looking over a collection elsewhere!

Ive privately seen the Blu Tahiti LP400S S1 of which you speak, its 1121096, the car before the copper car (1098) that sold at auction. Its not quite finished IMHO, needs a little more fettling & TLC.

    Best,

    Joe,

Why did the car need a nut and bolt restoration having just 3500 miles?

As far as the S1. The owner rushed the car to get it finished for Concorso I heard, I can see it needing more work. The work was carried out buy a capable collision shop, not a specialist in the marque. Not sure if they did the job right. Thoughts on value?

    Geno

1316 was owned by a fastidious man, who discovered it having been unused for almost 30 years. So the restoration was more his choice than a necessity. He commissioned the car's original workers to restore everything (body, engine, interior, mechanicals) and re-deliver it to him at Automobili Lamborghini SpA as a new car.

As regards 1098's value, I'd have to spend some time with it and see what has been done. My belief is that there is a lot more to be completed.

    Geno,

It is just UTTERLY amazing to me that no one here see's through the TOTAL BS "made for a reason" comments in regards to some cars here.

It reminds me of the story of the "Emperor and his new clothes" LOL

As far as the S1 car. I saw it at the Lamborghini Club of America Dinner Saturday night. I have no affiliation with the sale/representation or relationship with the owner other then a fellow nice guy with a RARE S1 car.

He was quite positioned that he HAD no desire for me NOR the "other" "Broker", to represent or offer his car to anyone.

But I surely don't come on here and KNOCK another mans pride and joy JUST because I didn't get the listing to sell/represent it.

Out right shameful and total "child like" BS actions.

We are still waiting "as we all want to know?" whats wrong with the Red cars paint scheme on the rear quarter window area that was just "brokered" away. I sure hope the new owner is aware of that, or should we all sit here and pic it apart as well, since WE DIDN'T sell or represent it.???

A couple of nice pics of the beautiful 1096 from the event. Apparently, everything they have done was completed painstakingly and with care over a number of years, and the bodywork is spectacular. All that remains to round off the restoration (IMO) would be the interior. Whilst doing this, I would recommend taking the black leather back to white - the original color.

Another interesting observation these pics afford us: 1096, 1098 and 1100 all have Vitaloni Sebrings on stalks!

Every other car on the road these days has metallic silver, blue etc. paintwork yet these Countachs still look amazing in those colours. Maybe it's because we're so used to seeing them in red, black and white?

I think the same can be said for colors. By "strange" they are not typically seen.

Recall that's Dan Ellis' car (silverlambo) and he said he'd list it back on June 3rd in the value thread, and he did, I think the very next day. I recall discussions trashing the high price of the listing at that time but I'm not going to spend the evening searching to find them. I thought it would be the straw breaking the camel's back. Ahead of the curve, yes, but the curve has been gaining.....

I saw 1096 too and agree with Joe. It's such a special car it deserves to have the interior done. And my gosh, with a white interior this car would knock your eyeballs out!
