Let's not forget Switzerland is quite an efficient police state where the border is also quickly alerted of certain plate numbers.

Clichés aside, you don't think that the following statement in a thread called "The Swiss Thread" would thoroughly qualify as trolling ?

Enjoy Monaco FWIW. We have plenty of people, many of them discerning and wealthy, who do appreciate the unique quality of life this litle country of ours affords.

And if you are once interested in discovering the wonderful side of Switzerland which you must have missed in your prior visit(s), I am sure many on this thread will be happy to take you around.

The wonderful side is the natural beauty, not really anything that has to do with the people. My friend was stopped at the border because of a gopro on the side of his car. Apparently permits are required to film anything. I also noticed a complete lack of young people which wasn't surprising.

I am really sorry about your friend's Gopro.

Median age in Switzerland is 41.3.
Italy is 44.3, Germany 43.7, Spain 41.5, France 39.7 to pick a few.

Median age in Monaco is 48.9. Highest in the world.

In the last 16 years, I have spent 29 days in Switzerland, & I loved every one of them. With one exception (grouchy outdoor bartenderess in Brunen) I found the people to be very engaging. On 2 occasions when I was alone, I was asked by other diners to join them at their table. The scenery & roads are absolutely spectacular, the entire country is immaculate, & there are flowers everywhere, I find the food to be better than average (at worst), the wine is great, etc. Yes it is VERY expensive, but I certainly think you get a first rate travel experience for the money. Haven't encountered the police.
If I could afford it, I would spend at least 10 days per year in SW.

Spent a rather busy week-end at Pebble Beach. The display of the 20 250 Testa Rossa was stunning. Even more stunning is the confidence of their owners to leave all security to the respect of the audience. No fences, no guards, total access. In theory, this panel would probably be worth half a billion US$.

The extremes between #38, the last one which changed hands I understand and the last one not be restored, and the unbelievable perfection of some of the other cars gives you the spectrum of what they were new and thorougly used.

Great photos! Snow in August? Gotta love it!
Were the police a total wet blanket or did you get to drive at least briskly? Being from the US, I haven't driven in Europe in almost 3 years, but I am consistently hearing that it's almost impossible to exercise a fast car in Europe anymore.

to really really exercise fast cars there are closed tracks..I mean, with our cars you immediately hit such high speeds in few seconds that it is even dangerous on tight Swiss roads....BUT...and it's a big BUT, you can always enjoy your car...

Swss Passes are watched from the police especially during summer, cause of huge amount of motorbikers using these roads like they were tracks.

I first wanted to come too, but honestly taking car out of my garage in order to let her sit in another parking for hours...oh no...:) this is why I usually do not come to these meetings, unless they plan a 400km trip all Ferrari together ...In this case I will surely be there :) I love driving.
