Very, very good news for all the people concerned with Jay's opinion who are insecure about their early Ferraris. Tonight they will sleep a little better, however owners of new cars will still have major anxiety issues. Come to think of it, he still does not say exactly what years he likes. Oh dear!
Leno has always liked Ferraris....just not new ones. There is a video you can find where Leno has Adam Carrolla bring his beautiful 250 GTE to his shop. He runs out of gas (bad fuel gauge) and the needle falls off the speedometer...very embarrassing for Carolla and Ferrari....
Yeah - I've heard the same thing! Apparently he's more of a Penne pasta man! In a recent interview he declared that Spaghetti was just too long and that it was over complicated and hard work to eat properly, what with the need for a fork and a spoon. Added to that, he mentioned that it also carried a higher risk of getting the sauce on his denim shirt! Penne pasta on the other hand was a good length from the start with no risk of having it dribble off off your chin, and, you can eat it with just a fork! (saves on the washing up!). When asked about Farfalle he said that it was a pasta he couldn't get on with because it was just too showy, being shaped like bow ties! He said that he doesn't eat pasta dishes because they look flash, he likes them to be simple dishes that allow you to quietly enjoy the flavour of the sauces! (Thinking about it, there is a possibility that I completely imagined this entire interview! )

I watched one of his reviews on the AM DBs and he has a red 308 gtb in the background. It would not surprise me if he has a Ferrari or 2 in his collection.
Sorry, bros, but Jay's got my vote for an okay guy. He wears denim all over and loves cars, old and new, McLarens and Ferraris. I'm glad he can enjoy so many and is willing to share that passion as he does. Nobody's perfect. Openly declaring a distaste for the poseur aspect auto ownership, to me, is cool. So what if he outs the dudes who pee their pants when their Ferraris get a scratch on them and who only drive them 500 miles a year? Good on him! This whole thread is less about Jay, because, let's face it, who really gives a dump, than it is about what's beautiful and what's ugly about Ferrari. It's better than the Tonight Show... Ciao! Hannibal
I admire his collection, but wish he would sell most of those cars to others, so that they can enjoy them too. Nobody can really enjoy that many vehicles at once. Too much coveting going on, which is why classic cars are hard to find and priced too high.
When watching Jay Leno's Garage I never see a Ferrari? Maybe I just am not looking hard enough but with all those terrific cars where are the Ferrari's?
Lots of collectors choose not to have a Ferrari, Jay is just one more. That fact has never caused me to question my affinity for the make.
This subject has been brought up several times on this forum. Apparently he wanted one but felt that the dealer and Ferrari NA didn't give him, as a customer for a high-end car marque, the attention he should have gotten. That's why. He has driven, reviewed and enjoy Ferraris on his online car show Jay Leno's Garage. I don't think he dislikes the cars, but it's become more of a principle thing for him. Maybe I'm wrong, feel free to correct me. As vast and varied as his collection is, I see no reason why he wouldn't love Ferrari roadcars.
Its the dealers and a lot of owners that rub him the wrong way, I cans ee the point, you know the whole fawning ferrari mystique thing. Plus he really likes his old lambos.
You joined FerrariChat back in 2003? Don't tell me you haven't seen the hundreds of posts on this subject already.
That's a good question to ask him one day the next time I run into him. When a guy gives you and a friend a ride in his mclaren f1 and doesn't even know you. He is OK in my book.
