Hi I am looking to install chrome round side mirror for GT4, may I know is this the porshe durant side mirror ? Or fiat 124 side mirror ? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I about to take possession of a US version of a 308 GT4 and it has black side mirrors. I have wondered if the difference in mirrors (ie black plastic versus chrome) is because it is a US car instead of a European spec car. Or did all the cars come with the Cromodora side mirror and someone decided to change mine out?
What year is the car? Early Euro cars had no mirrors but many owners in the day added Vitaloni California mirrors (and maybe later they came from the factory that way?) Early US cars had the Cromodora driver's side only as standard but I have seen many cars with a matching passenger mirror as well so this may have been an option or perhaps dealer installed?
My 74 GT4 (bought in May 75 in Aus) had a Cromodora on the drivers side as standard and I forced the dealer to give me one on the Passenger side in the deal.
The chrome cromodora is expensive and no re production piece if I am not wrong. But I think to add round chrome mirror looks good too . I think it should be the dino 246 round chrome mirror. Which is similar to fiat 124 chrome mirror I think. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I still have both Astros that came with the car but later replaced them with Vitalinos. Are the cromodoras really worth that much!
I have the same one on my '75 EU GT4. It looks quite similar to the mirror on Alfas at the late sixties/early seventies. Since the chrome on mine was failing i bought a replacement at Superformance (#24604015, in the 246 section).
