This car, in this Green, has to be the best color for the Early Countach I have ever seen...Just frickn STUNNING! I am sure the new owner will be happy as all get go...I know I would.
Last few images of 1316 from today. Fluids will be checked, it will be detailed and then it'll be part of a photo-shoot for a magazine piece. Seeing all of these lovely colors lately, the green, the grigio, colorado, tahiti, tobacco..... I'm actually salivating. Sorry guys.
All in good time! Meanwhile, anyone looking for a very nice low-mileage LP500S here in the USA, please feel free to contact me.

Joe- The green car is an S3 but in some of the pics it looks like a low body in the way the front sits. Looks amazing is that color. Any others born in this color? BTW the wingless black QV DD, was it at Concorso? Geno
The only thing I see which doesn't suite the rest is the steering wheel, the leather doesn't look original at all. BTW: you can still buy countach steering wheels on ebay.de.
Yes, whenever you fully restore a Countach interior and include the steering wheel, the latter always looks too 'new' because the leather lacks the sheen that the original items have. But that's not hard to remedy. Emilio has some original items I think.
The black/red QV DD has a wing, and no, it was not at Concorso, it lives in a very private collection. I asked Valentino Balboni to check, and we cannot find any other LP400S in Verde Metallizzato. I certainly have not seen another in following the cars for 30 years. 1121316 is actually perfectly flat, at correct ride-height for S3, as the image today shows (top), and an older image from a couple of years ago (bottom). I think there's a common optical illusion caused by a number of things: the outside images were taken around noon causing shadow directly downwards which makes the body appear somewhat lower. Added to this the narrower front track of the 4-liter cars which have a front track of 1492 mm/58.64 in as opposed to the 1536 mm/60.36 in front track of the 5-liter cars, plus the smaller 205 series tires rather than the square-shouldered 225 series tires of 5 liter QVs for example, mean the wheels literally do not fill the front wheel arches as well as the later car. All this means the bodywork attains the illusion of being lower. By the way, the attached images show the difference in paint in bright sunshine (top) versus overcast skies (bottom). Where was this green S3 located in the last 30 year? From the last picture this could be Switzerland Original Steering wheels can be bought on ebay.de for 250 euros, I have one lying around as a display spare part.
When Roy is complimenting a car that Joe sold, you know its objectively amazing. Truly super color. WOW. Looks like a million bucks, the color of money.
Yes, I had them and the back plate made to look as Marcello Gandini intended. It can be transfered back to originality in less than an hour. L-E Image Unavailable, Please Login
Among the LP 400 S delivery list, only these 3 others telaio are "Verde", may be in another shade : 112.1124 112.1338 112.1438 This one sold to the US collector is #112.1316. Some years ago, I was invited by its ex owner in Sweden in order to admire his nice collection, among the jewels this "Verde" was brighting besides very exceptionnal models. It was offered to me for sale in March 2014. It is always good to see a nice car going directly to its new owner/collector without passing years in a trader show room, like some cars on the market actually !
